Sharli's Place: October 2014
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. The new CTMH treat projects are a blast to make! They are attractive and easy-peasy! I took the project pre-cuts and designed my own just a little bigger to hold the home-made dog cookies I made for the doggies in our family. I believe these will be a hit, whole wheat, oatmeal, peanut butter, YUMM. They are pictured below. And this last photo is a close up. The back of the tag says "To Miley From Bilbo". *giggle*. Steve said we can expect 100 trick-or-treaters tomorrow! I have...

Sharli's Place: Hedgehog!!!
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015/06/hedgehog.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2015. We have a friend in AZ who loves anything "hedgehog"! So when I came across some hedgehog stamps, I caved and got some! Isn't this little guy adorable? He is from Rubberhedgehog. Stamps and it is called Summer Reading Program. I hand-drew the trees and grass and colored with Derwent Inktense pencils. I am pretty happy with the final product. The sentiment was from another stamp set called handwritten sentiments (although I see them first as balloon strings! You drew those trees?

Sharli's Place: Happy 4th of July!
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015/07/happy-4th-of-july.html
Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Happy 4th of July! Happy 4th of July! This week will be filled with excitement in the Brainerd area - I am so happy to be here for the "small town" 4th of July celebrations! Everyone gets involved, and the weather here allows for all kinds of "American" activities (like Baseball. We have been enjoying watching the boys play baseball and since they are on different teams, that practice and play on different days of the week, it is a Monday through Thursday commitment! My banner ph...

Sharli's Place: Recipe cards
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015/07/recipe-cards.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. I made a pile of recipe cards using the Taste of Summer stamps. After I made these (Sunset and Canary) I made a set with Pear and Sunset, and another with Canary and Pear. So much fun and such a nice assortment of clean, new recipe cards! We will use these in the MN kitchen inside some nifty protective sleeves I found in the kitchen. July 15, 2015 at 5:18 AM. Just too darn clever and how fun are these! I love the sweet summery colors, just perfect for a set of recipe cards. I'm a ...

Sharli's Place: April 2015
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. I thought, why not add a little more interest by putting two ink colors on the block? So I did. I inked the bottom (maybe 1/3) with Flaxen and the remainder with Glacier. And stamped it like before. But the result was less than satisfying - especially where the two colors came together. So then, I thought "what can I do to make the seam nicer? And I decided to try spritzing the block with a fine water mist before stamping the colors. Here is my "After" image:. The sky was done w...

Sharli's Place: Playing around with ink and sponges
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015/07/playing-around-with-ink-and-sponges.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Playing around with ink and sponges. This one was my favorite of three that I made "identical". Do you have issues like that with cards? What happened is that when I was putting the last one together, I reversed the green and blue panels and almost made the card upside down! I decided to just go with it, and I really like that the sky part of the card rests against the green and the hill part rests on the blue. Serendipity! Oh gosh, Sharli! Having that amount of difficulty cuttin...

Sharli's Place: August 2015
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 21, 2015. August Sneak-Peek of ZOE design papers. The Zoe paper pack is so pretty and soft! I have seen (on the consultant boards) some of the coolest things done with it - and quite a variety! I was inspired to make the first one by this lovely card that Becca Whitman made here. This was my very first sunburst card - and I did it primarily to show off the beautiful papers in this pack! Saturday, August 1, 2015. We are back from an exciting trip to Canada! It's hard to get motivated to scr...

Sharli's Place: May 2015
http://mesamemories.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. Recently there was a delightful short video on the Close To My Heart FaceBook page. I was "smitten" with the simplicity of the concept and the end result, with all the subtle changes in color! Needing a few thank you notes, I grabbed my favorite CTMH bicycle stamp and a never been used before stamp called Balloon Talk with a tiny sentiment from a Petite Perk stamp set and "voila"! I thought I might be able to link to the post from here, but I couldn't figure out how to do it!
