July 29, 2011. I was also familiar with the fact that if a written document is out of date, it is more likely to be considered fair use. This makes a lot of sense to me, because if the author of the work hasn’t updated, or added to the body of work and it becomes out of date, it should become acceptable for anyone to use pieces of the work.
