Shea's Zibaldone: a poem for September going into October
http://rrshea.blogspot.com/2014/09/a-poem-for-spetember-going-into-october.html
A hodgepodge blog by R. R. Shea. A poem for September going into October. The little white death is coming. Nothing existential or forever,. Just the first snows. That blot out the tired grass. And the golden carpet of leaves. That have surrendered themselves. As messiah-like sacrifices to the future,. So that all might live and rise. Again in the Spring. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Shea's Zibaldone: And the Nobel will go to...
http://rrshea.blogspot.com/2014/10/and-nobel-will-go-to.html
A hodgepodge blog by R. R. Shea. And the Nobel will go to. Thursday the Nobel Prize in Literature is announced, and so I continue my tradition of failing to pick the winner. My record is 100 percent at not being even close to reality. So, here we go again. Play along at home. First, five I feel deserve to win (the certain kiss of death to winning chances, sorry Javier):. Next, three likely to win:. Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o. And three who could win but should not:. Who do you pick? October 8, 2014 at 8:44 AM.

Shea's Zibaldone: March 2015
http://rrshea.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
A hodgepodge blog by R. R. Shea. A few books I've enjoyed. I have family in town, and unlike the stereotypical disaster that proposition holds for some, I love having them here. This is because they are not only good people and extremely funny, but because they are readers. A few days ago I was asked what books and authors I've really enjoyed lately. Here is my response:. Songbook by Umberto Saba. Love poems by Pablo Neruda. Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. My brilliant friend by Elena Ferrante.

Shea's Zibaldone: Back in the saddle.
http://rrshea.blogspot.com/2015/02/back-in-saddle.html
A hodgepodge blog by R. R. Shea. Back in the saddle. In the last five months, I have been battling cancer and neglecting this blog. The cancer remains and I keep fighting, but I think it is time for me to start blogging again. Out time is finite, and I can think of very few things I would rather do thank be with my family and talk about literature here with friends. Posts are coming. Cheers to all. February 26, 2015 at 4:48 PM. Good to have you back, and bon courage. February 26, 2015 at 10:00 PM. Peter ...

Friends | The Occasional Blog
http://mike.peay.us/blog/archives/category/friends
If things haven't changed recently, nag me! Archive for the ‘Friends’ Category. April 24th, 2016. Back in my early Sony. Days when I worked at RedZone Interactive, a friend and I got into RC planes. Since the rest of the studio didn’t generally roll in until about 9:00 or 10:00, we had the opportunity to take our planes out in the lot behind the office in the mornings while the winds were quite gentle. It’s a fond memory. Not really. I just thought it was a fun idea. 14 Years, 5 Months, 22 Days. The laun...

Shea's Zibaldone: May 2014
http://rrshea.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
A hodgepodge blog by R. R. Shea. There is more truth and beauty. From a single branch. From a single tree. Than from any book. Are the byproducts,. The dried, withered corpses. Of the murdered brothers. The only thing immortal. On the book page. Is the idea,. The book, in. The land of eternity. The idea and the tree branch. The former is eternal. I might start to blog more about my health and perhaps how I am using literature to get me through. Love and peace,. He piles the seashells in his bucket,.

Shea's Zibaldone: June 2014
http://rrshea.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
A hodgepodge blog by R. R. Shea. As night broke into pieces, I had a beautiful dream,. A thought which fled me like a deer. Frightened by the smell and sound of people. I chased the dream into the woods,. The trees growing thicker and larger. The deeper in I gave chase to the creature. Until the beautiful dream was gone. And I was surrounded by leaves. And tall, scornful grass, and bemused bushes. My heart grew cold and I shook. As I heard branches crack and the birds. I crept slowly back. We realize tha...
