The family and I along with David (KK4QML) and company successfully activated the summit. Trying to make our first HF appearance, nothing was going right. We had problems. Come to find out our hook up was incorrect. So we activated the summit with 2 meter FM. W4V/GC-001 (High Knob); Elevation: 4,216 ft; Points: 10. February 7, 2015. Highs in the 40's and sunny, very windy.

Directions from Pigeon Forge take the Parkway / US-321 to Gatlinburg. I took the Gatlinburg Bypass and got back on US-441 to Newfound Gap (TN/NC border). Turn right on Clingmans Dome Access Rd (Closed December - April). Take road all the way until you see the parking lot. Hike up the Clingmans Dome Trail.
