A blog by an American expat in Singapore, via Australia. Happy Birthday, Maggie! Asymp; Leave a comment. Birthday to our amazing baby girl. This has absolutely been the fastest year of my life. I feel like I was. Pregnant (coincidentally, that felt like the slowest year of my life), now all of a sudden Maggie is walking and babbling and feeding herself and playing keepaway games with Avon. In the early days. I marveled at how she did little more than lie on her baby gym, sleep and eat, yet the days still...

A blog by an American expat in Singapore, via Australia. Doggy Daycare and More Comes to the East Coast. Asymp; 2 Comments. Photo courtesy of Wagging Rights. I generally find that I get lots of reader feedback pertaining to two areas: 1) People asking for contact information for our real estate agent extraordinaire, Grace. And 2) People asking about doggy daycare on the East Coast. When we adopted Avon in 2012. And I’m happy to report that it’s a beautiful facility. Upon entry I immediately noticed the c...

From America to Australia, and back again! November 15, 2013. 10 months post-cross planet relocation. Ten months. I realized it yesterday and the thoughts that came to my mind were all over the place. I feel farther away from Australia than ever, distance and time-wise. And am I settled? I don’t know. I guess more than at the 6 month mark, but still Denver just feels like…Denver. What does that mean? I know, get over it already! Laquo; Autumn afternoon. From a total stranger to you: I get it! From America to Australia, and back again! October 19, 2013. The calendar says October. I have pumpkins outside my house and (opened) bags of Halloween candy in my kitchen pantry. So why, oh why was there snow on the ground this morning? The sun came out and the snow melted by the early afternoon, but still. It’s October! Living in Melbourne, they often would say, “if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes! 8221; and “four seasons in a day” so I guess I should be used to this, right? October 3, 2013.

6 Thanksgivings | From America to Australia, and back again!
https://melbournebound.wordpress.com/2013/11/26/6-thanksgivings
From America to Australia, and back again! November 26, 2013. Before 2008, making mashed potatoes was my big contribution to Thanksgiving dinner. I had never been brave enough to attempt stuffing or a pie and opening cranberry sauce with a can opener was the hardest thing I had done. I wasn’t expected to roast a turkey. My mom or mother in law did it, fantastically, and I was A-ok with that. I am again in charge of hosting Thanksgiving – but this time with more comforts of home. Shelves stocked...8230;] ...

I Like to Cook. Top casinos to visit in Australia. January 9, 2014. Comments { 0 }. Casinos were relatively late to appear in the country, but they have certainly made up for it in other ways. Of all of the thirteen casinos in the country, the two top casinos that are really worth taking time out for are The Crown Casino in Melbourne and the Star Casino in Sydney.
