Friday, December 30, 2005. Quriyat fort built over 200 years ago. Quriyat Beach. (How many mosque minarets can you count? Lookout Tower at low tide. We went on short road trip to Quriyat, 1.5 hours drive southeast of Muscat. We intended to spend the day visiting the village, the castle and going "wadi-bashing but P got called into an afternoon meeting at work just as we started our drive out. Friday, September 22, 2006. Gotta call my broker about big rock futures. We have been in England now for 6 months and managing to visit some of the tourist sites and there are many! We literally came upon Stonehenge during a drive to Wiltshire to visit a friend in their farm park. Sunday, March 05, 2006. On P's last day in Oman, we headed for Yitti Beach, now less than 40 minutes away on the new good roads from Muscat. Yitti is a small fishing town on the coast south of Muscat and nearby is another lovely village set in a valley of date palms. Yitti had been our first outing when we arrived in Oman 3 years ago so it was fitting P said his "Masalama, shukran! We will meet again, insha'allah. Walking at Yitti Beach. Good Bye, birds! Tuesday, May 31, 2005. P had to go to India over the weekend on business so I thought, Great! The kids and I will spend the weekend at the Bustan. When P looked at me warily, I nonchalantly said, I have a coupon for 50% off, shouldn’t cost much and the youngest two should eat for free.
