The Knit Garden
This ongoing body of work features anatomically correct flowers and plants. Each piece is hand knit with different fibers and stitches to capture the unique textures and forms within the plant kingdom. From the Resin Kitchen. My obsession with resin spikes and spheres continues to grow. Now I am trying bones and other organic matter, suspended in plastic– forever! Here are some animal parts collected in Wyoming. Courtesy of Andrew Oesch. Wing, claw, vertebrata, piece of jaw. What more do you need? These are Pollock otoliths I collect in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska. I’m glad to have finally found a suitable use for them. Pearls, glass, spines. …and a small mouse.
