Painting the corners, one pitch at a time. Sunday, February 19, 2012. Sticking with the running. Of celebrating pitchers and catchers reporting - a Shakespearian sonnet:. The grassy fields of Hammond Stadium. Are live this morn with sound of bat and glove. Walkways and bleachers filled with fandom's hum. As sunlight and hope stream from skies above. Mauer stretches and tests an achy knee,. While Cisco winds and loosens up his arm,. And Revere runs the fields smiling with glee. Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

Painting the corners, one pitch at a time. Thursday, June 27, 2013. Those Damn Yankees: A Minnesota Twinkie in King Rivera's Court. This article also published on Twins Daily. Then came my salvation - high school graduation and my predestined move to the heart of Yankeeland. I packed away my #42 shirsey and hopped a plane to New York, never looking back. Surrounded by own kind. I've been here 10 years and things never should have been better. Except I can't stand the Yankees anymore. But in stark contras...

Painting the corners, one pitch at a time. Monday, April 11, 2011. Losing Is a Disease (and other thoughts). All I can remember from playing baseball - or other organized sports for that matter - is that when you get in a funk, it's really tough to break out. It seems like all the breaks go the wrong way and that there's no way to build momentum. View more Frank Carpenter Sound Clips. And The Natural Sound Clips. Thome hit 590 Sunday. If the injury bug keeps forcing him into the lineup on a more cons...

http://www.thosegirlsbaseball.com/2011/05/you-tell-em-grams.html
Stats the Those Girls Way. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. You tell 'em Grams. My Grandma called me this afternoon to ask me why the Twins are so bad. I see how bad they are, and I think about how hard it must be for you to watch! Nah It's not that. Hard to watch. I mean, it's embarrassing and awkward sometimes. But I push through.". You love them so much. They should play better for you.". You hear THAT boys? You have officially been shamed by my grandmother. You make her sad. Tue May 03, 09:45:00 PM. Maybe my gr...

Monday, June 24, 2013. Injury Report: Pelfrey's Back. On Sunday, the Twins placed RHP Mike Pelfrey on the 15-day DL, retroactive to June 19 (the last time he pitched), with a strained back. His back tightened up during pre-game exercising on Saturday. He couldn't get it loose before his scheduled start on Sunday, so on the DL he went. There's no indication of whether he'll be able to return when he's eligible, but it's doubtful this injury is serious. Links to this post. Monday, June 10, 2013. I haven't ...

Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Injury Report: Mastroianni AND Wait.Who's This? The Twins have placed Darin Mastroianni on the 15-day disabled list with a stress reaction to his left ankle. He's been nursing a sprained ankle and bone bruise since the last week of Spring Training. It's not clear if this is related to that, but I am willing to bet it is. Mastroianni's injury worse than Twins thought, he'll be out 3 weeks. Foot in a boot for 10-14 days. Arcia should get a long look up here. Note: I should have i...

Twins Rubes: July 2011
http://twinsrubes.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Twins Fever at a Mid-Season High. The following list of things has me very excited about the final 73 games of the season:. The innings logged by the starters has reduced the amount that the bullpen needs to be relied upon. My feeling on the bullpen this year can be summed up with "Less Is More." Yet, I still feel pretty good about the bullpen getting through 3 innings if needed. Casilla, Nishioka, and Revere have been making terrific plays in the field. Although the Twins are...

k-bro's baseball blog: Injury Report: From Head to Calf
http://kbrobaseball.blogspot.com/2013/05/injury-report-from-head-to-calf.html
Thursday, May 30, 2013. Injury Report: From Head to Calf. The Twins placed Trevor Plouffe on the 15-day DL on Thursday with a strained left calf muscle. Poor Trevor. This is the worst of all possible luck. He was activated off the 7-day concussion DL on Wednesday, just to strain his calf in pregame warm-ups. He didn't even play in a game. He missed a fair amount of time in Spring Training with the same injury. The Twins don't believe it'll take the full 15 days for Plouffe to heal, but with a 13-man (!
