Gwen Lovin' Life: A few scenes along the way - end of the trip!
http://gwentales.blogspot.com/2011/07/few-scenes-along-way-end-of-trip.html
A few scenes along the way - end of the trip! I just wanted to post a few of the fun sites I viewed on my nearly-month-long trip to Utah, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Of course, I drove through Nevada, and could have stopped to get some desert photos, but I was more interested in getting to SLC that particular day. It's a long drive! That is the Draper Temple. In the foreground, you can see the Jordan River - look closely, as the color is green. Aren't barns supposed to be red? Will wonders never cease?

Gwen Lovin' Life: July 2010
http://gwentales.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Birthdays and such - July 2010. We celebrate birthdays whenever we are able to gather, and sometimes it's ahead, and sometimes behind the actual birthdays. This time - ahead. Haley will be 7 on July 30, and Blake will be 19 on August 4. (And Garrett will be 22 on July 31, but we will not be nearby for that day, unfortunately.) Here are Blake and Haley, ready for presents! Haley likes her new Barbie Ballerina, and the Barbie car. She loves her new Barbie house, too. Haley got a haircut and a French Braid.

Labor Day 2010 - Pool Party at Randall and Linnea's. LABOR DAY - Sept. 6, 2010 - at nephew, Randall's home. He and Linnea graciously opened their home and pool to few of the family, and we had a grand time. Here is nephew Bryan's, boys - little Noah (7-1/2) pretty well stole the show in the pool - even from his dad, which is saying something! Here he does a twist-and-turn jump into the pool. Uncle Randall did a duo jump with Noah while Griffin and Isaac looked on. Here are our hosts - Randy and Linnea.

Staff Sgt. Glen, Samsun, Turkey 1954-55. I posted some photos on Facebook, and decided I would put a few on the blog, too. Glen was in the Air Force Security Service for four years, and spent a year in Samsun, Turkey. I had to stay at home. Here he is in uniform at Ankara; he's not a Staff Sgt. yet in this photo. I'm posting some photos when he had some time off, too. Here he is with the jeep. Glen visited Ankara a couple of times beside entering Turkey and leaving for home. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Gwen Lovin' Life: Crown and Wand Day
http://gwentales.blogspot.com/2011/08/crown-and-wand-day.html
Crown and Wand Day. Activities for "Crown and Wand Day" included: Go to the Cupcake Store; Play Princess Crazy Eights; Play Princess Memory; Make a Fancy Hat and Crown; Make a Fancy Wand; Watch Cinderella 2. First, it was necessary to study up on the duties of a Princess, which was accomplished with this great sticker book. One must be very serious about understanding Royal Duties. Dusting off some princess outfits and trying them on took up a bit of time, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Seattle...

Gwen Lovin' Life: February 2011

Glen and Gwen Got Married - 12-26-1952. Our wedding reception was on December 27, 1952, because December 26th was Friday, and the "ward movie show" was always on Fridays! I suppose it's a good thing we delayed a day for the reception, since the guests might have beat us to the reception, but I still wouldn't recommend it for anyone else getting married! Here we have a photo of the bride. The greenery was holly in keeping with the season. The obligatory looking-at-the-gifts shot. (Those crystal goblet...

More fun with Erynn - 5-2010. There is a place in the downtown mall, a "sensory" area for children - with all kinds of touching things, and music to play, as on chimes and bells, and sounds of all kinds. Here we see Erynn gingerly patting the sleeping bear. I had to include this photo, as it was such a gorgeous day. Truly blue skies in WA! That's a wow in itself! We were at a park on Lake Washington. GG waded, and even Erynn got her toes in the water. It was cold water. Erynn at Play - 1 - May 2010.

Gwen Lovin' Life: Horsey Day
http://gwentales.blogspot.com/2011/07/horsey-day.html
NeighI mean, Nay! This is supposed to be the last Horse photo, and I accidentally lost it - so imagine it being the last one of the horsey photos, okay? With Erynn waving goodbye? Catch up, below. Horsey Day inluded - Go to See a Real Horse; Play My Little Ponies; Play Planet Horse; Watercolor at the Farm Park; Ride the Up and Down Horseys; Watch Swan Princess. We didn't make it to the Farm Park because we were all tired and so that was put off for another time. When we went to the "quarter store" (named...

Fun times while Darryl, Leslie and Erynn visited us. For most of the time while our Washington family was here, Haley and Erynn played and played together. Here you see them in the Princess tent, both in costume (Haley is Ariel, in case you couldn't place the hair). I bought this tent last year, and they used it a lot more this year. I was glad to have it. More costume fun. Erynn is 4 and Haley is 8 - but they do pretty well playing together. Obviously the princess twirled. Such cute little girls. It was...
