Cleat's Known Universe: June 2012
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Saturday, June 2, 2012. Let's just say that there are a number of lesser items that I want to tackle to make life on board more pleasant. This season too we still are seeing things we have not seen before! Like the Sei whale that surfaced just off the starboard side while we were under way. Then there were the groups of Golden Rays (15 to 20 at a time) as we came into anchor at Santa Domingo. like autumn leaves just under the surface of the water! Links to this post.

Cleat's Known Universe: January 2014
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Saturday, January 25, 2014. Once Again, Finally, Ready. We have been in San Carlos for an extraordinary 2 months at this point. It is amazing how long that seems, whew. We have had a ton of work accomplished on the boat and had some play time as well. The fresh autopilot seems to be ready as does the new electric head. The bottom paint and the new upper blue stripe looks great as do the new graphics for the name. We are provisioned well too! On the way to launch ramp.

Cleat's Known Universe: January 2015
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Monday, January 26, 2015. It was seven years ago that Sandy and I started this adventure. The sailing south, the traveling, the crewing, the rebuilding of many (most) of the systems on Faith and all the rest of the changes we have been part of the fun. We have turned around and NOT done things when it seemed the right thing to do. In fact, our motto has been (for a long time now), “If it’s not fun, do something else.”. Overall we have a very functional boat now.

Cleat's Known Universe: December 2012
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Saturday, December 15, 2012. How Did We Ever Find New Mexico? So, we got Arizona and then did a small side trip to San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. Yeah, we had to visit the boat (Faith) to see what will be required for NEXT season. We took pictures and had fun with friends. Seeing JJ and going out to dinner while living in motel rooms with really, really bad beds! One stop had me walking Abby and we had a pet section:. Then it had a warning:. Links to this post. Cleat's Known Universe: Yikes!! We've been Vortext-ed!!
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2014/03/yikes-weve-been-vortext-ed.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Sunday, March 30, 2014. We normally have a case of “itchy feet” when we are in a port for too long. This season of cruising has been short on cruising and long on staying in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. As has been detailed here and on Sandy’s blog we started out with a longer than usual stay in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico to get some much needed work done on Faith. We had seen his work a few years ago and enjoyed his vision of how such a thing could be created. That is, my v...

Cleat's Known Universe: January 2013
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Sunday, January 13, 2013. A Collection of Things. We have been slow to move around but the last month has been interesting none-the-less. This will be a non-timeline story! So, we pushed on all of twenty or thirty minutes from the repair to a small RV park in Rockport/Fulton. It was quiet and secluded. This allowed us to catch up with ourselves and do a bit more of what we like to do. be tourists. This, according to our guide was a very contentious tax issue. After a...

Cleat's Known Universe: Running Southward
http://cleatsknownuniverse.blogspot.com/2014/02/running-southward.html
Sailing, scooting, welding, whatever! Thursday, February 6, 2014. Sitting here in La Paz, BCS, Mexico after a lot of hand steering south from San Carlos after having installed a new autopilot is not what I had in mind when we left San Carlos. It is reminiscent of the last couple of years since our last autopilot (you’ll recall Dion, the Wanderer) packed it in. The remnants of Dion were unceremoniously deposited in a trash bin in San Carlos, as burial at sea seemed an extravagance at the time. There is no...
