Days with the Dorans: Twenty-(something) Reunion
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/2015/08/twenty-something-reunion.html
Days with the Dorans. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Last year when Jessica, Jenny and I were doing our 20th reunion we decided NO MORE! It was terribly stressful finding everyone and making everyone happy. Last year we just told everyone to show up at the bar the first Saturday in August every year and hopefully there will be some familiar faces! Later, my mom drove Ang and I (so we didn't have to drive) and I loved catching up with old friends! We drank and laughed and had a blast dancing! I also have a blo...

Days with the Dorans: Jeff
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/p/meet-jeff.html
Days with the Dorans. Let's see. what is new with Jeff this year. As I've told him, some things money can't buy and the fact that he has a job that he enjoys (most days) and can watch his kids in their events is worth it. I was just reading my update on Jeff from last year and now he is reading The Hobbit to Zach. Yup, he's a great dad! This is Jeff (with Zach). We'll see how long he lasts, but this certainly is a career that you can get burned out in. Yes, I am one lucky lady that is for sure! This is h...

Blog it Teacher!: Who's Reading?
http://laurablogteacher.blogspot.com/2012/10/whos-reading.html
A blog to teach educators how to blog. Tuesday, July 31, 2012. I remember last year, my son's wonderful teacher (I taught her to blog), mentioned that she wasn't getting a lot of hits on her blog. I told her that it probably was because people had signed up to get her blog via email. It only took a few clicks, but in moments I was able to show her a list of all the people who had signed up to get her blog. The first thing you need to do is go into your blog layout (pictured below). Click on Feedburner Em...

Blog it Teacher!: How it all began
http://laurablogteacher.blogspot.com/2012/07/how-it-all-began.html
A blog to teach educators how to blog. Friday, July 27, 2012. How it all began. As a teacher, I have used many forms of communicating with the families of my students over the years. I went from notes, to newsletter to a website. Nothing seemed to fit me or adequately communicate everything that goes on in my classroom. Having used a blog as the main form of communication for parents the last years, I would like to share a few tips that you should consider when starting your own blog. 3 Keep in Quiet.

Days with the Dorans: Classy Ali
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/2015/08/classy-ali.html
Days with the Dorans. Monday, August 10, 2015. It has been a very exciting summer! Ali spent two weeks in dance camps (9-6). The second week, she was invited to audition for the "Classy Dancer" dance troupe. and SHE MADE IT! She'll be competing in Jazz and tap and is an understudy in hip-hop which is neat because she just started that style. Of course she'll still have many other classes (12 to be exact) but she's really excited! I think we're going to have a lot of fun! Way to go, girls! Thanks for chec...

Days with the Dorans: Go Tigers!
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/2015/08/go-tigers.html
Days with the Dorans. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The game wasn't very good but we had fun! We laughed and talked and caught up and I kept my phone away (except for a few pictures that I couldn't resist). Next year we'll have to make sure Sean comes but this year it was nice to just have the Bigs. Ali didn't want to stay for the fireworks and so she offered to clean Zach(who wanted to stay)'s room for two weeks if they could leave. He took it (smart boy). Joe wears his sunglasses at night. Write on, Seany!

Days with the Dorans: Lordy, Lordy, Guess who's Fordy
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/2015/08/lordy-lordy-guess-whos-fordy.html
Days with the Dorans. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Lordy, Lordy, Guess who's Fordy. Lordy, Lordy, JEFF IS FORDY and I can't believe we have spent 18 birthdays together! We've almost known each other as long as we haven't. For Jeff's birthday, we decided to get away. Since we are unable to go up north (with Z's soccer schedule and other activities), Jeff wanted to head to a great lake. We picked Huron since it isn't that far away. We stayed at the Double Tree and had a great view of the bridge and lake!

Days with the Dorans: Laura (Me)
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/p/meet-me.html
Days with the Dorans. In getting ready for this update, I realized that I didn't have. Many pictures of (just) me. I've recently started trying to get back into shape (though I think my current shape may be where I stay.) and am actually jogging! Mostly because these winter months have me inside on a treadmill and it makes the time go faster. I spent my summer walking and enjoyed my time outside often with two of my favorite people (Jodi and Angie). I am certainly a blessed lady! I continue to be very in...

Days with the Dorans: Lunch with Joe
http://dorandays1.blogspot.com/2015/08/lunch-with-joe.html
Days with the Dorans. Monday, August 10, 2015. Jeff and I were talking about how we need to make more of an effort to spend time with one kiddo at a time. We have been lucky to have kids that (most days) get along wonderfully. In fact, often when I ask if they want to have someone come over they'll say, "No. We're good." We get along so well we usually just all go out together! We do recognize it's good to have some one-on-one time. We had a great time and I loved that it was just the two of us. In addit...
