Saturday, March 17, 2007. You also challenge me. Most others would simply roll with the punches, but there are many times when challenging just isnt enough, and you push me to my absolute limits. I have had a bad habit of jumping into things too fast in previous relationships, and I quickly burn out. I know how to pace myself with you, which leaves me satisfied and never really bored. Thursday, April 12, 2007. Starting Over After 9 months. This morning I went out for a short, foggy run. Once again, my mind was overpowering, and despite running 35 miles last week with no problems whatsoever, this week has been totally different. I haven't been in sync with my body at all, and I'm doing far too much walking. Well, I would agree with you in theory. However, a wise man once said "know thyself".". Sunday, March 18, 2007. Running with tunes: part deux. So, Im not sure if I should feel like a bloody hypocrite or not, but I ran with music yesterday for the first time in months. I had been on an anti tunes tirade for those months, claiming that running with music would make any runner's run that much harder, because it would put their breathing and heart rate out of whack. I wish to issue an apology to the runners who have had success with this method, as I now enjoy running more with tunes once again.

Sunday, July 19, 2009. Hello my friends. I don't know if anyone will even read this anymore because it has been so long since I have posted! It is summer for me now and I have finished my Bachelor's degree. I am starting grad school in the fall and this summer I am trying to reclaim my health to be ready for the challenges ahead. I have lost 15 lbs. and have 15 more to go. I have not run in forever and am considering starting up again because I remember how good it felt! I will let you know how it goes :).

Okay, so after a few months of no posting for a multitude of reasons, I am back because I have some good news. I am not diabetic. That was a fear of mine from back in January (after the last blood work), but today has put my mind at ease. Basically, here's how it looks now:. I dropped 13 lbs. from January to today, going from 193 to 180. Which should be between 125-200 mg/dL was 179. But it is now 100.

In a nutshell, my blood levels went up, and there's the slightest chance, if I don't regain some control, that I could be diagnosed with Diabetes, whether it's severe or not. My hemoglobin A1C was 6.3 - apparently 6.5 or above is a Diabetes diagnosis. My level has always been between 6.0 - 6.1. I won't have it. Probably was. At least I was eating better than I have apparently been eating now.

It's amazing what a little motivation can do in 90 minutes ;-). I really amped up my weights, focusing on arms and abs, with some legs thrown in for good measure. I'll hurt tomorrow for sure. Good. To paraphrase Lady Macbeth, who would have thought I had so much sweat in me. I want to look ahead to things that will augment my life.

Friday, April 27, 2007. I went down to the bay this afternoon. It was a beautiful day 75 degrees and I just could not work out inside a gym. When I get into that state I always like to write down what my thoughts are because it is in those times that I feel the most alive. I was thinking about how thankful I am that running gives benefits even to beginners, how after a run at 15 min/mile, I will feel the same as that gazelle that just passed me. Thanks for reading,.
