Getting back on track. | librarian with a laptop

https://librarianwithalaptop.wordpress.com/2012/06/09/getting-back-on-track

Librarian with a laptop. A kind of clinical librarian. Getting back on track. It has been an eternity since I posted anything on here. It makes me feel quite guilty really. I’ve been having a bit of break from the whole blogging/twitter thing as I was starting to feel a bit bogged down by this chartership malarkey. So what is my priority? Got to go – that Lego won’t build itself. I’ll leave you with this thought. This entry was posted in Reflection. June 9, 2012. June 12, 2012 at 9:03 am. I achieved the ...

Thing 5 – Reflection or “Things to make and do in the next 12 months”. | librarian with a laptop

https://librarianwithalaptop.wordpress.com/2011/07/22/46

Librarian with a laptop. A kind of clinical librarian. Thing 5 Reflection or Things to make and do in the next 12 months . Obligatory reflective picture. A most unusual sight on the Rochdale Canal, I can tell you. I read the #cpd23 blog, and liked the simplicity of the Borton model. It seemed much easier to use in everyday practice, so I applied it to my PDR preparation. What what have I been doing over the last year? Was it what I had planned? If not, why did I do it? This entry was posted in cpd23.

Not waving but drowning? | librarian with a laptop

https://librarianwithalaptop.wordpress.com/2011/07/15/thing-4

Librarian with a laptop. A kind of clinical librarian. Not waving but drowning? 8230;Just me then…. I signed up to Twitter a good while ago and have tweeted sporadically ever since. Some days I tweet lots, others I prefer to just sit back and read the feeds. As I said before, it’s a kind of mixed bag of posts about what I’m doing work-wise, what I’m up to that particular day or whatever random thought has popped into my head right at that moment. This entry was posted in cpd23. And tagged cpd 23. You are...

scanning QR codes whilst watching telly! | musings of a medical librarian

https://ilk21.wordpress.com/2011/07/13/scanning-qr-codes-whilst-watching-telly

Musings of a medical librarian. And mutterings about anything else that takes my fancy! Cambridge Librarians TeachMeet – camlibtm. Scanning QR codes whilst watching telly! Wow – clearly I need to stay in more! Since when did the BBC start including QR codes. On it’s programmes? I was quietly watching Simon Hopkinson’s The Good Cook. Thinking how delicious his porcini pasta. Looked when a QR code popped up on the screen! When did this start happening? In Cambridge, and had got a QR reader app on my iPad.

Musings of a medical librarian. And mutterings about anything else that takes my fancy! Cambridge Librarians TeachMeet – camlibtm. About me - Isla Kuhn! Initially a very reluctant librarian, I’ve now enjoyed over 10 years as a Medical Librarian, and have to face facts: I really enjoy what I do! In 2013 I moved into the position of Deputy Medical Librarian. And have contributed to the CPD23 programme. And the 12 Things programme. July 9, 2011 at 5:04 am. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Musings of a medical librarian. And mutterings about anything else that takes my fancy! Cambridge Librarians TeachMeet – camlibtm. Uhmlgsf15 – UHMLG Spring Forum 2015 – part 2. After a very fine lunch at the RSM, the UHMLG 2015 Spring Forum. Took a year, with a big team. Postgrads* (* insert anyone else as appropriate) who think they’re doing a systematic review as a 5 week placement, or similarly short length of time are not, they’re just not, doing a systematic review. Monday, September 15, 2014. Three big challenges facing libraries. These aren't the only issues for libraries today, but some of the big ones:. 1 The wide diversity of users needs. 2 Keeping up with technology changes. The value of public programs. So how do libraries know what programs to do? Small budgets make programming an interesting challenge. Partnerships are key to stretch the reach of library programs. These can include promotional partners for printing flyers, or reaching out to profess...Latel...

Just another WordPress.com site. Week 8 Adieu to Assessment in E-learning. March 1, 2011. The 8 weeks seem like they just started but I like 8-week long classes rather than semester-long class. The 8 weeks seem to immerse me more intensely into the material and I remember the information better. Although this will probably be my last post about Assessment in E-learning, my plan is to continue blogging about school library media specifically and on education in general. Week 7 Final Project. Librarian With A View. I chose this blog name for two reasons. If you look at the picture below out the window at my previous school, you see that I have a beautiful view of Fountain Lake in Albert Lea. Every visitor new to our media center comments on its beauty.even in the dead of winter! The other reason is that I tend to have a "point of view" on much that goes on around me.
