Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies. Joint Library of the Hellenic and Roman Societies. The Library is maintained jointly with the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies and in association with the Institute of Classical Studies (University of London). It contains over 130,000 volumes, 675 periodicals and 6,700 slides and has an international reputation as one of the world’s foremost Classics lending libraries. Members of the Society will be issued with a Library Card on their first visit.

News & Events. The Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies, generally known as the Hellenic Society, was founded in 1879. The Society helps to maintain the Joint Library. In conjunction with the Roman Society. And the Institute of Classical Studies. The Society also arranges an annual lecture series in London, holds occasional conferences, receptions and other meetings, and helps to arrange other lectures all around the UK in collaboration with the various local branches of the Classical Association.

News & Events. The Library is maintained jointly with the Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies. And in association with the Institute of Classical Studies. Members of the Society will be issued with a library card on their first visit. The majority of the library’s collection (c.123,000 books and c.1500 periodical titles) is on open access shelves for members to browse or borrow. Members in the UK are entitled to borrow 4 books for a 30 day period. Postal loans service within the UK. July 21, 2016.
