TO READ OR NOT TO READ...: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society *****

http://librarygoddess.blogspot.com/2008/09/guernsey-literary-and-potato-peel-pie.html

Sunday, September 07, 2008. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society * * *. Shaffer, Mary Ann and Annie Barrows. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. This is an adult book appropriate for YAs. At that present time, this novel has been on the NYT Bestseller list for several weeks. The book is somewhat predictable at least as far as how it is going to end, but that's not really a problem. The real point of the book is to fun and entertaining, and it succeeds at that. Read it. Now.

TO READ OR NOT TO READ...: Feathers ****1/2

http://librarygoddess.blogspot.com/2008/02/feathers-12.html

Monday, February 25, 2008. Feathers * * 1/2. This is a Newbery Honor Book. This was a great book. I normally only read books aimed at HS students, but this book was a Newbery Honor book so I thought I would read it anyway. No high school student would be interested in this book at all, but younger readers would. Frannie is an honest and flawed character. She is easy to like and her story should keep readers interested. the educated blogger: October 2005

http://educatedblogger.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 28, 2005. This is just the beginning. The author mentions also the case of the University of Minnesota which in April of 2004 announced plans to "offer free blogs to the university community" (Albans, 2004, p.18) I would love to hear what the results are. By the way, the article I mentioned is "Blogs and Written Communication Courses: A Perfect Union" by Zane K. Quible, published in Journal of Education for Buseniess, Washington, Jul/Aug 2005. Vol 80, Iss 6, pg. 327. Continuing with my to...

On a quest to get in the Web 2.0 know! Friday, March 28, 2008. Photosharing - Exploring Flickr. I’m exhausted. I’ve been exploring Flickr. And although I find it to be quite a user-friendly service, it has so much to offer and thinking I was going to get through it all in a few hours was “a bit” ambitious on my part. So far, I have set up my own account and uploaded, tagged, and described a few photos which can be accessed here. 1 Are people posting inappropriate photos/content? Flickr offers the option ...

Library Goddess!

Fri, Dec. 18th, 2009, 08:06 pm. They took my bar! So I've sworn off dating for a while- too many mishaps and it's getting downright discouraging. I used to be sparkly and entertaining, now I'm getting bitter and that just doesn't make for a fun date- good blog post, maybe. But anyway- in an attempt to lift my spirits, my friends suggest an evening of listening to bad karaoke while sipping Polynesian drinks. Sounds good to me! He finishes, we clap and get back to our conversation and as he walks by he mak...
