Linda Kemshall: Reasons to be cheerful
http://lindakemshall.blogspot.com/2015/08/reasons-to-be-cheerful.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. Reasons to be cheerful. I know I've been uncharacteristically quiet on the blogging front for a while. The reason being that my mom has had a total knee replacement and visiting the hospital involved a 100 mile round trip each time. Since she came home from hospital, my sister and I have been vying for the title of 'nurse of the year'. I made soup and cake today so I've notched up a few points! Never mind - we're so glad it's over now and she's getting better each day. I always e...
Linda Kemshall: April 2015
http://lindakemshall.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 23 April 2015. Don't you just love April? This is my favourite time of the year. The sun is shining but it's not so hot that you feel like doing nothing all day. The hedges in the lanes are full of blossom and the fields full of new life. The days are longer again and it feels like anything you set your mind to is possible! This pumpkin bleach drawing with its text is intriguing isn't it? I've been enjoying using bleach in my 'Finish Me' art journal too. Monday, 13 April 2015. It's always lovel...

Linda Kemshall: Off to the seaside
http://lindakemshall.blogspot.com/2015/05/off-to-seaside.html
Thursday, 14 May 2015. Off to the seaside. We escaped the office at the weekend to make a flying visit to the seaside. Laura and I love nothing more than walking on a beach looking for treasure - seems it's a genetic trait. I've never seen Amelie so excited! She loved the sand so much she didn't know whether to dig, paddle, collect shells or cycle - or try to do them all at the same time. Riding the bike into the sea was probably not her best idea yet! Is a beautiful exhibition space. Exhibition opening ...

MILLYPENNY: An Grianan
http://millypenny.blogspot.com/2014/09/an-grianan.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. A few weeks ago, I spent the weekend at An Grianan with a group of like-minded friends. We had great fun over the weekend, either sewing or messing around with dyes and paints. It was lovely to have a venue where you could keep working and have your meals served up to you, so no time wasted in cooking etc. I forgot to take many photographs as I was messing around around with gloves, dyes and paints. A photo from our Show and Tell meeting on the Saturday night. Dawnput your ha...
MILLYPENNY: Gender Stereotypes
http://millypenny.blogspot.com/2015/02/gender-stereotypes.html
Monday, February 2, 2015. I made this quilt "Gender Stereotype" for the Cork Textile Network "In Unison" exhibition that was held in December. Most of the fabric in this piece was jelly-printed. Not printed with the gelli-plates but with a block of real jelly (Chivers Jelly) which works surprisingly well for printing. I have a number of quilts in progress at the moment, but most of them can't be shown yet (round robin projects, exhibition quilts etc.). Monday, February 02, 2015. View my complete profile.

MILLYPENNY: July 2014
http://millypenny.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Using up left-over fabrics. My scraps are are building up (scrap box is filled to capacity) so decided last week that I'd better do something to use them up. Found my Scrap Republic booklet by Emily Cier and came across this Volume quilt project in it. It's a great way to use up scraps, arrange them all by colour. I'm nearly there, just have to make the purple and black strips. Tuesday, July 01, 2014. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland. View my complete profile.

Thursday, 29 March 2018. This Is Everything We Are. I get really irritated when I visit a blog and only find apologies for why there haven't been more posts of late! For that reason we'll gloss over the fact that I haven't been here since January! I have been posting on our DMTV blog so please check that out if you want to catch up with what we've been busy with recently. I also post on Instagram several times a week if you are missing me! In between all that there's DMTV! Yes he did get finished! I love...
Linda Kemshall | quilts, painting, sketchbooks
I’m an artist who loves to make quilts. I share my time between working in sketchbooks, printmaking and painting, and working on stitched pieces. I love that with techniques such as digital print, fabric painting and screenprinting, I can achieve the same painterly layering of images in my quiltmaking that I so enjoy creating on paper and canvas. Drawing helps you quilt too – after all, whether you work with pencil or thread, it’s all about line, shape, colour and contrast isn’t it?
