Literacy and Laughter - Celebrating Kindergarten children and the books they love: Alliteration Celebration!!!

http://literacyandlaughter.blogspot.com/2012/01/alliteration-celebration.html

Sunday, January 15, 2012. My kindergarten friends have been working super hard in Writer's Workshop! We just finished up our Alliteration unit. It was SO MUCH FUN! At the end of each writing unit I try to have a special celebration. For our alliteration celebration. Each child brought an item (snack or small trinket) that started with the same sound as their name. This idea came from this great blog post. Kate brought Kisses and Kleenex! Frankie brought Fruit Roll-Ups! Simon brought Star Fruit! Mrs Rider...

Sunday, August 9, 2015. Using Notebooks in the Classroom. I am looking forward to welcoming my new Kindergarten Friends to school next week! I have been busy prepping in the classroom. One thing that I am *really* excited about is our learning notebooks. We use our learning notebooks to record our discoveries in reading, math, and science. The students take serious ownership of their learning. and it lends itself to natural differentiating! Check out my posts for our reading notebooks. Posted by Amy Rider.

http://literacyandlaughter.blogspot.com/2015/07/five-for-friday-july-10th.html

Friday, July 10, 2015. Five for Friday {July 10th}. I am linking up with Kacey @ Doodle Bugs. To share my 5 for Friday. My husband, kiddos, and I just returned from a dream vacation - Turks and Caicos! It was absolutely stunning! I don't know if it was the turquoise waters, salty air, island vibe, or just spending relaxing time with my family but. I feel COMPLETELY renewed! Feels great to be back to my old self! We sold our home that we have lived in for the last 10 years. I have been pinning like crazy.

Musings of a Teacher: More on Fairy Tales

Musings of a Teacher. A day in the life of a teacher can turn to mush unless we share and reflect, have a sense of humor about it and, most importantly, revel in it! Thus, this is a space to revel in my fullfillments as a teacher and the accomplishments of my students; and to share and reflect on lessons and teachable moments. I hope to inspire others a bit at a time and to have a space where I can peek back on my musings as reminders of why I do what I do.because there are so many reasons. In order to r...

Adventures in Student Teaching. Sunday, April 3, 2011. Measure with Feet and Inches. We learned how to measure with feet and inches this past week.
