Ashley's Lit Blog: Part One Persepolis and Poems...
http://ashleylitblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/part-ne-persepolis-and-poems.html
Sunday, October 26, 2008. Part One Persepolis and Poems. The poems that were posted all spoke o the text as well. I think each had its own aproach, and addressed the 'good' and 'bad' aspects of war. I think that Satrapi thinks of the war as both good and bad in that she has her own beliefs about what should be happening and what should not be happening. The first part of the book was interesting, and I'll be curious to see how it ends. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The end is in sight.

Ashley's Lit Blog: Helena and Demetrius
http://ashleylitblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/helena-and-demetrius.html
Friday, November 14, 2008. So, after reading through A Midsummer Nights Dream,. In the play is a little crazy I think. She almost. Seems to be stalking him. Creepy? I think so. But i guess love can do that? This part of the scene there is an obvious struggle as Demetrius tries to get away from Helena. I think that Helena just wants to feel loved and have someone reciprocate her feelings for a change. Although her character. Seems a bit weird, I think that she just wants to be accepted. Thing about this p...

Kyle's Blog: The Lion's Key

Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Ee cummings writes in Next to of Course God America I. And from line 10 to the end of the poem he hits on basically soldiers being slaughtered like cattle. Here's what he writes. Why talk of beauty what could be more beaut-. Itful than these heroic happy dead. Who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter. Then also in Persepolis there is this same concept going on starting on page 99 it this idea of the key. "you see this? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Ashley's Lit Blog: Persepolis and Neruda's Poem
http://ashleylitblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/persepolis-and-nerudas-poem.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Persepolis and Neruda's Poem. Another line from his poem that I thought was similar was when Neruda says "Come and see the blood in the streets". This line is suggestive of all of the turmoil and grief that fills the streets and lives of people during war and conflict, conflict that is obviously affecting Marjane and her loved ones. Monday, September 29, 2008. The Bluest Eye" close reading. Even if you consider the time period for this piece it is quite interesting to note, that even he, can't talk all that well. He seems to stumble in front of a young girl, its as though he is scared of her. Another part I found interesting was when she went to pay him for the candies. He was reluctant to touch her hand to take the pennies, and why? As for Morrison's text i would go along with the idea of the use of language that is prevalent in th...

Lisas Blog: Midsummer Nights Dream
http://lisajo88.blogspot.com/2008/11/midsummer-nights-dream.html
Sunday, November 16, 2008. Haha tell me about it. i think to get a better back ground on the play we should watch the movie Get Over It! It's an awesome movie, its funny and it sums up all of a mid summers night dream. I think shakespeare is hard to read but after seeing that movie its a little more easy for me get into the story and relate to the point hes trying to get across. November 17, 2008 at 12:10 AM. Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Persepolis and the poems. I don't really like this book so I manly skimmed through it. I think that the panel on page 69 where Siamak comes home is like the poem War is kind. Monday, October 20, 2008. Blankets and other text. I think this book is like the poem Much Maddness is Divinest Sense. Also Jeanette is looked at as an outsider because of her sexuality, and in The Bluest Eye. Pecola is shunned from everyone, and is left on her own. No one wants to be around her. Even af...
