Live from the 323. Thursday, July 19, 2007. The Other Man is . Craig. There is a man in my life, besides my ever-loving husband, Jim. Yes, I've been having an extra-marital affair with CRAIG. He's my obssession. He occupies my thoughts day and night. Craig, as in Craigslist, has taken me on an emotional rollercoaster these past few days, but check this out: It's a Craigslist bonanza. The contest is rigged! Then there's the range. Our entire kitchen remodel has been held up by the range. Until las...Our a...

Live from the 323. Thursday, April 19, 2007. Jim and left the loft an hour early this morning to visit the Jewel of Hollywood. Our mission: to lay the tile pattern in the upstairs bathroom. The rest of the bathroom is pretty much tiled, and it looks GORGEOUS thanks to Daniel at Elements of Tile. Posted by Gabrielle P at 12:11 PM. Monday, April 16, 2007. Life at the Loft. She likes the loft. Posted by Gabrielle P at 9:19 PM. Sunday, April 15, 2007. They weren't the first friends to offer up their home to ...

Live from the 323: February 2007

Live from the 323. Monday, February 19, 2007. What we saw this weekend. Here is what we saw when we went in 2/18. Only days three after we closed escrow, the plaster was off the walls. Upstairs, west-facing bedroom. The lower living room. Jim fell in love with the tiles in here - until we found out they were made of ASBESTOS. I'm hoping to restore these floors to polished concrete. The "out" sign below means that wall is scheduled for demo. You can see more of the pictures from 2/18 by clicking here.

I would like to have more friends on MySpace, but everyone my age seems to think it's just for teenagers or it's just to find sex. Or to find sex with teenagers. Whatever. Live from the 323: September 2009
http://livefromthe323.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Live from the 323. Thursday, September 24, 2009. Oh, how long I did yearn to see this before and after photo with my own eyes. This toilet room in its "before" state was a nearly perfect representation of the previous owners' taste in decor. Not only did they like to use a lot of fancy wallpaper like what you see above, if something happened to the wallpaper like, say, a stain or a tear they just papered over it. Never mind that the paper didn't match. I mean, wallpaper's wallpaper, right? This is the vi...

Live from the 323. Friday, March 30, 2007. As of Saturday evening, our new address is the Super 8 Motel in El Sereno. Looks like we will be hotel hopping for the next couple weeks. Posted by Gabrielle P at 12:24 PM. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. I would rather have root canal.". So says my mother about moving. She's right. Moving is the most hideous of all pastimes. Even if you hire movers, the process is ASS. We're the only people I know with two houses and no place to live. Posted by Gabrielle P at 2:58 PM.

Live from the 323. Sunday, June 17, 2007. I'm getting impatient with our door situation. When we paid for the interior of the house to be painted, included in the price was the cost for stripping the original Craftsman doorframes around four interior doors. The painters stripped the frames, but there's still a lot of paint left, and also burn marks, where the strippers were a little too aggressive with the heat gun. Live from the 323. Monday, October 29, 2007. Pssst Hey, buddy. Wanna buy a china cabinet? Anyway, I started posting it at $1000. I've been dropping steadily and am now at $750. At this point, I'm starting to feel like I could give it away. Our kitchen is nearly finished (Does anyone else hear that sound? Is that angels singing? And I'm kind of ready to feel that space where we tore the wall down. How low do I have to go to unload this beloved monolith? Anybody want to buy a china cabinet? If it did, they...
