Monday, June 19, 2006. Cape Town is amazing! It is like Southbeach meets California. this is probably going to be my last post due to the unavailabilty of internet here. We are 2 hours away in the Winelands and there just happens to be a tiny internet cafe here. We went to the top of Table mountian yesterday. It was spectacular. I cant even describe what it was like. I will be back in town at 6pm on Saturday. The food has been good here But I really need some Roadhouse, Fridays, and good old McDonalds.

Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Internet access is very hard to get here, so as I write it is costing me Rand every second. I would love to write about everything, but it just cant happen. Africa is amazing! I am going with mostly education students so we have been to a ton of different schools. I have seen everything form a very poor inner city school to a 'Stoneman Douglas esque' suburban high school. Monday, May 31, 2010. After 13 months in the application process I finally received my invitation. I will serve as a school and community resource specialist departing July 12th. Staging will be in DC. Philadelphia (30 miles from where I live). The hardest part of accepting this invitation is parting with my friends and family. I was using my kindel for amazing free internet but it was really slow and limited. currently im using my unlocked android phone with just 8mb on data on my sim card. i installed opera mini and this relativly small amount of data that cost just 9 Rand (1.20$-ish) is lasting me a long time! Wednesday, July 14, 2010. At 11:15AM we depart on South African Airways for out 16 hour journey direct to Johannesburg. Last time I flew this airline they announced as we were departing "Do not embarrassed yourself by asking to fly business class during the flight." This Peace Corps thing is starting to get very real!
