Potato Roaming: To make a thing like that, you'd need to know what you were about.

Friday, March 4, 2011. To make a thing like that, you'd need to know what you were about. Here I proclaim my unfashionable love of New Zealand band. 65279;. It is not shame that makes me omit them from band-sharing conversations, but fear of an indifferent response. The Mutton Birds make me feel a bit desperate. I just want you to love them. This is White Valiant. You’re from the family that moved in up the valley. It’s lucky I picked you up and not somebody else. If you found yourself l...

Potato Roaming: Postcards from Albert Street
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2011/01/postcards-from-albert-street.html
Sunday, January 9, 2011. Postcards from Albert Street. Wo televisions and several remote controls. A bike with no pedals. An unassuming set of purple plastic free weights, with stand. I apologised to the spiders as I vacuumed their homes and the bodies of my foes from the skylight. ‘You’ve been really helpful, especially in summer, but bond is bond.’ They ran off to other corners. Damn, every word of Postcards from Surfers. Happy Birthday Dear Robden of Solway Firth. Some startling facts about snails.

Potato Roaming: Hand that pen over to me, poetaster.
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2011/03/hand-that-pen-over-to-me-poetaster.html
Sunday, March 20, 2011. Hand that pen over to me, poetaster. What an exciting time this past fortnight has been. I found out that I am about to crawl out of the casual pool and walk on two new feet through the world of salary-earners. A job. I kept telling people, I just want a job. Online, and plotting my company takeover. Progress feels good. Leisurewise (and I must think about leisure time now) there has been much afoot. My charming and knowledgeable friend Nick works at the John Buckley Gallery.

Potato Roaming: The Silence of the Bunnies
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2011/04/silence-of-bunnies.html
Tuesday, April 12, 2011. The Silence of the Bunnies. This evening an email arrived in my inbox from Animals Australia. Living ethically is one of the few things that has gotten easier since I was thirteen. Thank you, internet, for facilitating such feats as this paperless contact with a politician, and also this here, a list of companies that don't test their products on animals. Accessible from the aisles of supermarkets by smarter phones than mine. The Silence of the Bunnies. View my complete profile.

Potato Roaming: Happy Birthday Dear Robden of Solway Firth
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2011/01/happy-birthday-dear-robden-of-solway.html
Saturday, January 22, 2011. Happy Birthday Dear Robden of Solway Firth. According to the blog of my wonderful friend. This week is the birthday of the poet. That reminds me of a joke that I love but can never remember well enough to tell, since I don't really know any of the man's poetry. Here's the joke:. An English doctor, being shown around a Scottish hospital, is taken into a ward with a number of patients who show no visible signs of injury. And here is a neat poem called. Potato Roaming: Audiopig: A Cultural Binge
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2010/06/audiopig-cultural-binge.html
Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Audiopig: A Cultural Binge. About six weeks ago I put out a facebook request for podcast recommendations. I now have a podcast diet which, although gluttonous, is very particular. Here are the highlights of my audio-glut:. 1 This American Life - tried and tested, whimsical and wonderful. I was already a big fan of this one, thanks to my David Sedaris obsession. Friend Jens put me on to a particular episode entitled 'Pro Se' (episode 385). 2 Recommended by friend Margaret - Slate's.

Potato Roaming: Phlox and Fatty
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2011/02/phlox-and-fatty.html
Monday, February 14, 2011. Firstly, a google image search for 'phlox':. Secondly, following a friend's message containing a link to David Sedaris reading 'Fatty Suit' on. The rarely-helpful gmail sidebar had this list of search suggestions:. In an unsuccessful attempt to bring this entry full circle (hoping against hope to get further images of phlox), I googled 'romantic gifts':. Happy Anna Howard Shaw Day. The Cat Video Post. Potato Roaming: a duck other ducks are ashamed of
http://potatoroaming.blogspot.com/2010/12/duck-other-ducks-are-ashamed-of.html
Thursday, December 30, 2010. A duck other ducks are ashamed of. Our (mine and Adrian's) place in Carlton is a high point in both our housing histories. Albert Street just about fell down around our ears as we fled Abbotsford, and the junkies shook their fists and rattled their teeth. Happy differences between the new place and the flatteringly-nicknamed Chalet include but are not limited to:. No carpeted-over craters in the floor, at the new place. Professor Frederick Coolidge claims that the hypnic twit...
