Fleetwood's Long Mountain Challenges: Children
http://longdistancechallenges.blogspot.com/p/children.html
Fleetwood's Long Mountain Challenges. This site is a record of my long distance running (and walking) adventures. Be inspired! Ever since my son, Ben, was born, I wanted to share my love of the hills with him. Our first outing was Harrison Stickle with Ben in a front pouch aged 3 and a half weeks, which was about all I could manage in between feeds in Kendal. My wife valued the time to herself, so what better way to give her a break than to do something I love? Ben on Seat Sandal, aged 4.

Fleetwood's Long Mountain Challenges. This site is a record of my long distance running (and walking) adventures. Be inspired! The Lake District is made for mountain running and walking. The sheep have made the fells nice and runnable, there's loads of well-walked paths and the area is nicely compact, allowing for a zillion and one combinations. Oh and its pretty accessible with plenty of opportunities for support. Bob Graham Round, 65 miles, 27,000 feet, 24 hour time limit. Effort: ▲▲▲. Effort: ▲&...

Fleetwood's Mountain Log: August 2004
http://johnfleetwood.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2004. Knoydart Round, August 2004. 55 miles, 26,500 feet, 27 hours 40 mins, solo unsupported on sight circuit of Knoydart's rough hills. This route is one of the roughest you'll find anywhere in Britain with big ascents and descents following one after another. I completed the round after driving up to the dam at quoich, sleeping for a few hours and then setting out alone not having reccied the route. 27 hours later I returned, had a cat nap and drove home again.

Saturday, July 10, 2004. Welsh 24 Hour Round, 7/8 July 2004. 63 miles, 26,700 feet, 23 hours and 20 minutes, solo unsupported. The inclusion of the Northern Carneddau 3000 foot peaks adds a further 7 miles and 1300 feet and about 2 hours. Wanting to amend the classic Paddy Buckley Round in North wales I set about devising an alternative route but logical route that encompassed Crib Goch. It took me three goes, but in the end I managed such a route, ending in dramatic circumstances.

Alps End to End 2015. A 63 day journey on foot from Slovenia to the French Mediterranean. Sunday, 9 August 2015. Rest day number 2 and photos. With an unpromising forecast of rain and storms I've opted for a rest day in Isola, or more accurately, a day to match good forecasted weather with the peak I want to do. In reality its stayed dry, so I hope tomorrow isn't much worse! Finally I've managed to download some of my 1134 photos. So here's some for starters:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Alps End to End 2015. A 63 day journey on foot from Slovenia to the French Mediterranean. Wednesday, 25 March 2015. Getting real - 78 days to go. I've also booked the train back - just £58 from Nice to London and 8.5 hours. A bargain! Talking of which I could do with some more support for the mountaineering sections, especially Piz Bernina and Mont Blanc/Aiguille de Bionnasay, and friendly support in the valleys is always appreciated, so if you fancy it . Stage 5 - Bernina and Bregalia 4 - 9 July. Pictur...
