Monday, December 29, 2008. What on earth did we do before we had Internet? Mine has been down for the last three days and it was like losing a limb. I didn't realize how much I use it until it wasn't there. Craw-kan tech support is awesome though. I called at 8:10 this morning and they had someone here before 9:30 to install a new DSL modem. Sunday, December 21, 2008. After fortifying himself with only one cup of leftover coffee (instead of the usual full pot of fresh coffee) my sweet hubby put on his layers of cold weather clothes and took the space heater under the house to thaw the pipes while I stayed in the nice warm kitchen baking Christmas cookies with little sprinkly things on top. Thursday, January 1, 2009. I am so sad to share that Shanna (my niece) and Jeremy lost their baby. She was 20 weeks pregnant with a little boy. Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Baby it's COLD outside! It has been SO cold here the last few days. Temps in the teens, and wind chill in the single digits. Sunday morning, along with our frozen pipes, we had ice on the pond for the first time. So, as soon as I finished cookie baking I bundled up and went out to get a few icy shots. This was the last surviving cattail. It sure looked lonely out there surrounded by all that icy water. Love that cattail picture! It looks so cold there! The cattail is so pretty.
