Monday, May 31, 2004. Arghhmy computer has declared war on me. Okay, so it's probably my fault - I was meddling around with the drivers, so now the only program that can function for more than 5 minutes without crashing is Internet Explorer. All praise to Microsoft. :). I went to Low Yat Plaza to check out the computers there - man, that place is a madhouse. There are so many computer shops there! Cough* Ming Yuan *cough*. Even bigger than Midvalley? Posted by the talking amoeba @ 4:25 PM. Being a scienc...

http://randomrubbish.blogspot.com/2006/01/yesterday-was-best-day-ive-had-in-two.html
Sunday, January 15, 2006. Yesterday was the best day I've had in two weeks! Cat-chan (a.k.a FCN) will be going to New Zealand this Thursday, so we held a farewell lunch for her. Well, actually Melissa and FCN did most of the organizing. Hehehe. :) College work, y'know. Very busy! I can hear all of you going, "Yeah, right.". Quickly presses Forward button*. I quickly glanced at my mum to make sure she wasn't freaking out over my choice of music. Thank goodness that Gloria Deo. How very true. I know it...

Sunday, January 30, 2005. Dae Jang Geum soundtrack in Cantonese. Kelly Chen sang 'Oh Na Ra' in Cantonese for the Hong Kong version of the series - much to my surprise, it's actually quite nice to listen to. I was afraid that they would ruin the whole song, but instead they gave the song a nice Chinese feel to it.the chorus in particular sounds like a New Year song - but it's still good. I like it. http://randomrubbish.blogspot.com/2005/12/after-long-wait-ive-finally-found-book.html
Wednesday, December 21, 2005. After a long wait, I've finally found a book that made me cry. Maybe it was my choice of books, but the few I've read this year never really brought me to the point of shedding tears. I mean, it's impossible to weep over Lives of the Popes. Unless it's tears of boredom (hey, not all of the popes had interesting lives! But Memoirs of a Geisha. Touched me in a way only The Song of Silver Frond. I just watched the trailer for The Da Vinci Code. I have stopped reading fiction no...

http://randomrubbish.blogspot.com/2005/12/i-brought-my-grandfathers-shortwave.html
Thursday, December 29, 2005. I brought my grandfather's shortwave radio back to my house yesterday. Today I fiddled with it for the first time. My first impression? But after listening carefully I realized it was an Indonesian radio station (they used bahasa baku). Excited, I tried fine-tuning it some more, but apparently the shortwave spectrum is so packed with stations that I ended up listening to the Indonesian station and some Urdu station (well it sounded Urdu-ish! At the same time! Posted by the ta...

Monday, August 30, 2004. We did it we did it we did it! We had our drama performance today, and we DIDN'T SCREW UP! Okay, so maybe we did a little, but the audience didn't know! It was really chaotic before the performance - I was really at my wit's end, because it seemed like no one knew what to do except Zhao Yen and a few others. Heck, even I myself wasn't sure of some things. I was too nervous and too worried about tripping over my baju kebaya. And I thought it was going to be a disaster! Somewhere a...

Tuesday, November 30, 2004. A jewel of a drama. Okay, on with today's topic. You can't blame me for stereotyping Korean dramas - usually you can sum up the plot in four sentences: Boy meets Girl. Boy and Girl fall in love. Plot drags on for fifty episodes. One of them dies. A million-dollar blockbuster is born. :P But Dae Jang Geum/Jewel in the Palace. Is different. Hey, I can even spell it right.now you know. What makes this drama so addictive? Is it the superb acting? You guys should watch it. It's...

Sunday, October 31, 2004. As it turned out, I did go to school last Friday - don't ask about O-Yes, it was mind-numbingly dull.the only revelation of the day was that O-Yes stands for Online Youth Entrepeneur Series. One funny moment was when the facilitator asked, "Who likes money here? And no one put their hands up. Like duh. No one's going to openly admit that they're money-minded! Got a more favourable response. So people think that fame is more important than money? Your month-long torture starts to...

Thursday, September 30, 2004. And it's not even October - which is usually exam month at SMBB. They're starting next week, poor things. ;) I'm still in denial though, just like I was after the PMR. I keep thinking that there's an exam tomorrow - I'm so worried that tomorrow Pn. Hamizan will walk in and say, "You're all gonna sit for Bio Paper 4! So, in the tradition of masyarakat Arab Jahiliah. It was a girl. Again. As well - 5 tantrums since yesterday, believe it or not! Maybe it was because I totally i...
