Good food, no pictures, no plan. Cook this Now group. Not Quite Alton Brown. Fresh Peach Buttermilk Ice Cream. Shrimp Scampi with (no) Pernod. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Agreed, it doesn't look like much, but it tastes really good. The chili I used was not very spicy, so we used a bit of siricha to spice it up. Otherwise, the flavors are balanced and clean, so that even though this is a hot meal, it's nice for summer. A great meal to come home to. Labels: cook this now. Thursday, August 23, 2012. Fortun...

Good food, no pictures, no plan. Cook this Now group. Not Quite Alton Brown. Roasted Chicken Legs with Smoked Paprika. Curried Coconut Tomato Soup. Sunday, April 22, 2012. It's April near Paris, and you know what that means.cold, windy, rainy weather. I still wouldn't go so far as to call it the cruelest month. That would be November. But April also means the beginning of spring produce: strawberries, sorrel, peas, spring onions, asparagus. The asparagus comes out of the pan somewhat toasty but also tend...

Good food, no pictures, no plan. Cook this Now group. Not Quite Alton Brown. Thursday, January 14, 2010. So here I am in France for half a year with my own kitchen and lots of yummy ingredients. I hope to make the most of it, and so far I have been cooking up a storm with fairly limited equipment and counter space. I just found out this morning, though, that this situation is going to change: we're moving to a nicer place with a HUGE, extremely well-equipped kitchen! Warm Mediterranean Couscous Salad.

Good food, no pictures, no plan. Cook this Now group. Not Quite Alton Brown. Cucumber Salad with Almonds and Shiso. Corn Salad with Avocados and Lime. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Cucumber Salad with Almonds and Shiso. Around Paris, Claire and I stayed home and ate frittata (to use up leftovers) and cucumber salad. Now that's sheer cussedness (with some laziness thrown in for good measure.). And the final salad? Labels: cook this now. Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Corn Salad with Avocados and Lime. One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Friday, May 4, 2012. CTN: Vietnamese Grilled Steak Salad. Except, for me, it wasn't steak. Nor was anything grilled. And I didn't take pictures- again. I have gotten very far behind on my cooking, baking, and writing. I haven't left my link on the last two TWD posts (although I did make the Lemon Loaf Cake- which I would highly recommend to anybody), haven't made the last TWD baked good, and haven't caught up with Cook This Now. All of which were true!

One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Sunday, March 25, 2012. Spicy Black Beans with Chorizo. When I realized, on Thursday night, that I had forgotten it was Thursday, I previewed the recipe and was very pleased to see that it used canned black beans. I'm sure it would have been better with homemade black beans- but I didn't have any in the house and didn't feel like making them. Pete was home and I had JUST thrown chopped onions into the pan! He would see them! I will definitely make this ...

One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Thursday, April 19, 2012. CTN: Matzoh Brei and Chilaquiles. Although I made the Matzoh Brei more than a week ago, I have not had an opportunity to write about it until now. Busy times. Six tablespoons. As you can see, that more than coats the bottom of the pan. After we had all tasted the Matzoh Brei, I decided that I would make Chilaquiles to round out the meal. Here is my recipe for Chilaquiles:. About 2 garlic cloves. Take some corn tortillas (I used...

One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Potatoes and Brownies and Circuit Analysis. I signed up for MIT's free class on circuits and electronics. It was free. And it was from MIT. The prerequisites for the class are AP Physics, Calculus, and Linear Algebra. I have taken all of those classes. Yes, that was 30 years ago, but I took them. But I have become obsessed with it, which means that all of my spare time (ha! The brownies- what can I say? View my complete profile.

One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Thursday, April 5, 2012. Really Delicious Tomato Soup. I know the soup had a different name, but I am just describing it. Its funny- I used to really hate tomato soup. Or thought I hated tomato soup. I suspect that I had been fed the canned Campbell Soup variety. I actually have no bad memories associated with tomato soup, but I knew I didn't like it. During the 90s, my office was next to a very high-end restaurant- Pamplemousse Grille.

http://aliciatunafisha.blogspot.com/2012/04/twd-pizza-rustica.html

One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Tuesday, April 3, 2012. I loved how easily the crust came together. I have a love for smooth, pretty dough. I like looking at it, and I like kneading it. This particular dough was very lovely. I think I ended up kneading it far more than required. The crust rolled out like a dream. I was hoping to actually weave the lattice top, but the dough was a bit fragile for that. Didn't matter-any lattice top looks pretty. April 3, 2012 at 10:22 AM.

One foot on the trail and the other in the kitchen. Thursday, March 29, 2012. Olive Oil Almond Cake. So now that I have more spare time, I should be cooking, right? Nah- I just found something else to fill that time. And it came with a diet. Adventure Boot Camp. Means getting up at 4:45 am, doing a grueling workout, and coming home to protein shakes. My kind of fun! Since I started on Monday, I knew I had to throw the cake together on the weekend if I was going to have any chance at all to eat any of it.

Marias Rader -

5 januari 2017 @ 21:34.
