We're Not in Kansas Anymore: February 2015
http://myredrubyslippers.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Tuesday Random 5: MattDamonMattDamon. 1 Today for dinner I made Nu Ways. If you don’t know what that is, it’s ok. It just means you didn’t grow up in or near Wichita, KS. In Iowa, they’re called Maid Rites. I think the generic term is a loose meat sandwich. Anyway, they’re yummy, and I don’t think I’d had them in at least 15 years. It’s not amazing, but it’s perfect for a costume. Facebook friends, you’re going to want to check out pictures on Friday. Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Curses and Cucumbers and Carrots, Oh My! I know I’ve talked about grocery shopping in Sri Lanka before. But now that I’ve been here a while, I feel like it’s time to revisit it, specifically with my trip to the store yesterday. Allow me to take you inside my head during my most recent grocery buying experience:. I’ll bet they let you keep the sarong with the uniform blue vest. Something in Sinhalese. Oh, that is a scary look. What? Oh My God. I think she just cursed me. 8220;...

Anyway, it turns out it’s Tuesday again already. Here’s your Random 5! 1 The other day Gertrude Bell stood in the pantry and whined, “There’s NOTHING to eat in here! 8221; Deep breath. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Tuesday 5: Porch Chickens and Root Beer. 2 One time, I read that the appropriate number of times to vacuum per week is the number of people in your family plus one. So, for the Intrigue Family, that equals seven. Seven. If there were but one more Intrigue in our family, I would officially never be caught up. 8221; Fellow Adventurers, how would you describe that taste? I was dumbstruck. “Like…Liiiike….root beer? I don’t know? I do not know. Posted by Dorothy Gale. 4 I’ve al...

We're Not in Kansas Anymore: Tuesday 5: The Urgency of Fruit Snacks
http://myredrubyslippers.blogspot.com/2015/07/tuesday-5-urgency-of-fruit-snacks.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Tuesday 5: The Urgency of Fruit Snacks. 1 The International man of Intrigue and I have been watching X-Files in the evenings. Last night, we watched one where Jack Black had a minor part. I love watching old programs and seeing people who are now famous in bit parts. If any other Fellow Adventurers want on the “Happy Mail” list, hit me up on Facebook. 4 The other day, I was in the bathroom and Arthur Dent started pounding on the door. I told him to give me privacy and I̵...

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Tuesday 5: Good Vibrations. So put the crack up! 8221; Yes, I have 90’s music issues. 2 Earlier this week, my sciatic nerve and hip started acting up. Acting up is putting it mildly. It was throwing a fit like a two year old in a grocery checkout line full of candy. I could barely maneuver. Yesterday I limped off to Target, solo (Thanks, Meg! And bought a TENS device. It’s basically electric shock therapy for muscles, and it works! 5 Do you have a laundry system? First, shout o...

Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Tuesday 5: Never Ending Basket Edition. 1 So, apparently yesterday was Prematurity Awareness Day. I wasn’t aware. The month of November is also Adoption Awareness Month. Coincidence that this is the month we celebrate Laura Ingalls Wilder’s birthday this month, since she was adopted and a 2 lb 7 oz preemie? 2 Today The International Man of Intrigue and I got to guest lecture for a friend’s college class via video teleconference. It was fun! Posted by Dorothy Gale. It’s...

From Norway to NorCal: Thankful
http://emjayek.blogspot.com/2012/04/thankful.html
From Norway to NorCal. Miscellaneous rantings of me. Monday, April 2, 2012. I flashed upon something tonight that happened several years ago. I have no idea what brought it to mind. My cousin, Suz, was visiting from out of state and we hadn't all been together as a family in forever. It was Thanksgiving. My favorite holiday. What is better than a holiday than we all do nothing but get together and give thanks for everything we have in life? No gift obligations. Just pure celebration. Thanks, Baby Bear.

Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Tuesday Random 5: Of Children, Diets, and Game 6. I’m sure the Royals will be glad to be home at The K- after all, the fans who make Arrowhead Stadium the loudest in the NFL will be the same fans cheering on the Boys in Blue tonight! Finish this, the Royals are up 8-0 in the top of the fourth inning. I'm glad being the home team gave them a boost! 4 Why am I shotgunning tiny bags of Cheetos? Posted by Dorothy Gale. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Tuesday 5: Be Royal Edition.

From Norway to NorCal: December 2010
http://emjayek.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
From Norway to NorCal. Miscellaneous rantings of me. Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Yesterday my friend from work, I'll call her Lori, found out her Mom was very ill in Atlanta. Lori had no means to get there and made a plea via facebook. Enter Debbie, who used to work at our office, but now works at another firm up the peninsula. Debbie and her husband, John, pooled their frequent flyer miles and flew Lori to Atlanta that day. Lori was able to be with her Mom and family. The gift of an angel named Debbie.
