O MEAS Movimento de educação ambiental sustentável é uma instituição sem fins lucrativos de projeto voluntário de conscientização ambiental, com enfoque educativo, interdisciplinar, permanente e que se integra a práticas e atitudes de preservação da natureza. Foi constituído em março de 2012 com com sede provisória no conjunto José da Silva Peixoto - Jacintinho - Maceió - Alagoas. Sensibilizar e conscientizar a sociedade para importante tarefa que é a de preservar o meio ambiente.

O indicador social do Brasil, de acordo com o censo 2010 do IBGE, faz citações que Alagoas tem os piores índices de Desenvolvimento Humano do país. Este índice negativo reflete diretamente na educação, a qual muitos não têm acesso.
