These are my samples from the time I lived in Hawaii and kept an indigo vat for 7 years. Doing shibori at the Tin Thimble. And more shibori……. I am sorry to say I neglected to take any photos of our dyeing process, but dye we did…. Undoing more shibori after dyeing. The joy of discovering an opti visor for taking out shibori…. A lovely stitched design.

http://thetinthimble.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 27, 2012. I am absolutely THRILLED to now be carrying the FULL line of Colette Patterns! Their patterns continue to impress me with measurement accuracy, shape, fit and they're cute (with a vintage flair) to boot! In my Ginger Skirt at the Handmade Summer Wardrobe Fashion Show this year. Laughing of course. In my Crepe wraparound Dress at the Fashion Show as well. And the back. I think I like the back more than the front! Posted by The Tin Thimble. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. The Tin Thimble: December 2012

http://thetinthimble.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 19, 2012. I recently learned that How to Train Your Dragon is currently my 5-year-old nephew's favorite movie so I just couldn't resist making him these pajama bottoms for Christmas:. Made from the above vintage pattern. It was SO much better than any of the new patterns that I looked at. I wish I had time to make him the robe too! I loved my robe when I was his age. I used Ed Emberley's Happy Drawing. Now I'm off to make a pair (not dragon) for his 2-year-old sister!

Thursday, August 15, 2013. We here at the little Thimble that Could are on a mission. Have you ever seen "the back room" here at the shop? Well if you have you know that it's packed. If you haven't, it's full to the brim.I mean it's really. Shops in hopes of dispersing our stash of totally cool and practical items. We love our vintage needle books. We just can't get rid of them. We think they'd make lovely stocking stuffers or gift card holders. Patterns, patterns, patterns. They're making a come back!

Reconnective Healing

Is It For Me? Everything is energy and beyond that is Supreme Intelligence. The idea that a common energy sustains all life forms is not a new one. Scientists and spiritual leaders have asserted this premise for centuries, and it remains at the foundation of many well-known practices, from the principal laws of physics to the healing arts of Acupuncture and Reiki. The latest Science reveals. Reconnective Healing is not just a new way to harness or apply energy. When you move through a snowfall in a mount...

Me, my Public Relations self and I

Friday, February 26, 2010. If you're wondering how our return to The Total Woman show went. Once again, the lovely ladies of Impact Movement Studios had a lovely time at the Total Woman show. The crowd seemed really receptive to our performances, they had lots of comments to give post-performance, we got to meet some great people and give them lots of information about our business.
