Sometimes I’ll swing with my four year old son on our swing set under an ash tree that is bigger than the gunshot walnut tree. He sits on my lap facing me like I’m carrying him, but he holds on tight to the links of the chains and each time we swing back and forth, feet to sky, feet to ground, he leans forward and says “BOO! Did that really just happen? Sunday, December 22, 2013. For when my kids realize I'm a spaz. Recently, I wrote this post. They wonder. I'm sure my Dad is remembering when I drove away from Casey's with the gas pump still in the Plymouth. I'm still a total dip. A year or two ago, a guy in Ankeny chased me down (I thought, to murder me.), to give me back my wallet that I had left on top of my car at the gas station while pumping gas. I love pools and slushies too! Did Mom just run after the ice cream truck?

In my oh-so-humble opinion. Thursday, July 19, 2012. This Monday, I purchased a bicycle. I've been in need of/wanting one for a good 3 years, and I finally found one that fit me, worked, and could be afforded. Woohoo! I need more movement in my life, and I needed a better way to commute the one-and-a-half-ish miles to work than walking (takes way too long) or driving (costs too much/can't park anywhere close to my work buildings). A Subaru (or an SUV more generally). Skis or a snowboard. A ranch or farm.

Just a Boring Mother. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Seeking and Not finding. Oh did I mention I had an ear infection, went to the doctor got medicine and my ear is not better but I have to wait 'til tomorrow to go pay another co-pay at the docs office to get treated again. I also can't hear very well anymore and things are quite fuzzy in my ear. Ezra has grown a ton and is now 11.5 months old, picks up his own food to eat, and has 4 teeth. The miracle of the furnace. The furnace would shut off sometimes. We flipped it off and back on again which restarted it. For a couple of years this sufficed. This winter, one of the coldest I can remember, it began to shut off more frequently. Mornings we awoke to 40 degrees. It would be 4 pm before it reached 67. Space heaters became our friend. We started a savings account for a furnace. Obviously something was wrong. So we prayed. We prayed hard. We begged God to fix our furnace. February 28, 2014.
