Me, Myself, and Meningioma. Il y a quelque chose dans ma tête…. August 17, 2009. When we were in Paris recently, my husband and I decided to go back to the Eiffel Tower where we were engaged. Wouldn’t you know, they now have metal detectors before you can go up and see the view. I walk through and “beeeeep”! It feels like a lifetime since I shifted myself onto the operating table, and lay there shaking and bawling my eyes out, terrified as I was about to have a craniotomy. Well I've seen the radiology-oncologist (RO) and also 'conversed' via telephone and text after a 'team meeting'. The upshot of it all is that the measurements are STABLE (a good thing) and this whole exercise merely seems to prove how very hit or miss (even meaningless? These measurements are (a bad thing)! It seems from the MRI result that Fuss may have grown 3 or 4 millimetres since January 2013, according to my radio-oncologist. Well the second MRI seemed to go without a hitch . not that they tell you anything. With regard to what they have seen. The nurse who inserted the IV port in my arm and gave the Gadolinium injection (contrast medium) was English so we had a good old chat! From a patient point of view I feel that it would have been more reassurring to have been given this information on my final treatment visit, in person, by one of the department nurses. Going to my head . An occasional journal about living with two meningiomas, Feckit and Fuss. Wednesday, 21 January 2015. MRI all done and dusted for another year! Feckit (2.4 cm). Fuss (1.28 cm). Had my annual check MRI on January 6th, but did not get the results until yesterday as my consultant was away on vacation. Those two weeks of waiting seemed like an eternity! I was beginning to worry that feeling bad lately meant BIG things were happening in there and that Feckit and Fuss were having a fight!

Me, Myself and Mein. Sunday, August 30, 2009. Working with external monitor using Macbook. Today I found one way to solve this problem. To make the laptop screen close, connect USB mouse or keyboard to the laptop (which is connected in my case). Then close the lid of the laptop screen to make the macbook go to sleep. The monitor will go dark. After that, click a key or a button with the connected mouse. The laptop will wake up but the laptop screen won't! Simply closing the lid of the laptop will not work.
