We got some good news and some not so great news:. His heart function not only looks great, it's actually improving. We've dealt with a little muscle stiffness in the past but that seems to be gone. Updates about our little guy, Max, and his journey with a heart transplant. Phoenix Children's Hospital is the only pediatric heart transplant program in the Valley. Pediatric heart transplants are among the most complicated procedures and patients require a lifetime of care. A heart transplant is recommended for patients with severe heart dysfunction that cannot be managed or treated with medication or other surgeries, as was the case with Max's HLHS. Heart in light of his tricuspid valve regurgitation.

Updates about our little guy, Max, and his journey with a heart transplant. Thursday, January 29, 2015. Biopsies, Scans, and Max. Oh, my! Things have been a bit hectic for the last couple weeks. We finally found an antibiotic that Max's system could tolerate without throwing up, which luckily cleared up his lingering sinus infection and flu-like symptoms that we have been dealing with for months. This meant that Max was finally healthy enough to. go to the hospital three times! No sleep 'till, NEVER!

We weren't able to do as much to celebrate Max's birthday as we wanted because we're still in the midst of his first cold and flu season.
