A great way to stretch your dollars is to buy day old bread. There are many creative ways to used day old bread. My children love stuffing any day of the week, and of course there is always bread pudding. 6 slices day old bread. 2 TBS butter or margarine, melted. 4 eggs, beaten. 3/4 cup sugar (you can use brown sugar). 1 tsp vanilla extract. Cube bread and put in 8-inch cake pan. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake in oven at 350 degrees, for 45 minutes (or until the top springs back when lightly pressed.

With a couple of eggs, some rice, a can of string beans from the food bank, and a packet of instant brown gravy (often found: 3 for a dollar), you can make this surprisingly good dinner. 1 can string beans. 1 TBS butter or margarine. 1 pkg brown gravy mix. 1 cup cold water. 1 TBS soy sauce. Cup milk (or water.or combination of each). 2 3 cups cooked rice. 1 Heat up the string beans. 2 Make gravy as package directs. Mix in soy sauce. 3 Beat eggs with milk/water. Wild widow 3:38 PM. 1 can cream of mushroom soup. 1 egg, beaten. Cup onion, minced (optional). 2 10oz pkgs frozen chopped broccoli. 1 10oz pkg frozen cauliflower. 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese. 1 Lightly grease an oblong baking dish with margarine. 2 In a medium sized bowl, whisk together soup, mayonnaise, beaten egg, and minced onion. 3 Place frozen broccoli and cauliflower into large bowl, and break them up. 4 Spoon soup-mayonnaise mixture on top of broccoli and mix well.
