Down But Not Out! Reflections of a mother with two sons with Down syndrome. Monday, April 18, 2011. The Art of Simpilicty. If this is your first time joining us, Welcome! Please feel free to browse past posts. We are a family with two natural sons (Caleb 7 & Joshua 4) who both happen to have Down Syndrome! Our boys are a great blessing but with great blessings comes great responsibility (or something to that effect)! It is too much trouble to take the boys any where! Once a month a local movie theater of...

Down But Not Out! Reflections of a mother with two sons with Down syndrome. Sunday, December 20, 2009. If you are visiting this blog for the first time, welcome! Please feel free to visit past blogs. We are a family with two "natural" children with Down syndrome. Have you ever needed help? In the past few months some very exciting things have been happening with the boys: Caleb is becoming more potty friendly, he is learning to read, and he is becoming very independent. Joshua has learned to walk, he...

Down But Not Out! Reflections of a mother with two sons with Down syndrome. Friday, March 28, 2014. If These Walls Could Talk. Sorry for the delay. Life is moving faster than I am right now. Shortly after the last post we got horrible news that my mother-in's lung cancer has returned. deep breathes. (pausing to pray). The walls could tell some horrible things! Despite all of the dark secrets these walls could tell, there are far more beautiful memories to be told! I would argue that quite the opposite is...

Down But Not Out! Reflections of a mother with two sons with Down syndrome. Thursday, April 17, 2014. Margaritaville . what? The plan was working. I found some great sale items. The boys were changed, hair was brushed and a little of Dad's cologne on . we were ready. We had a great time! People have said some pretty strange things to me. but, most are the sort of thing that I laugh at and think, Oh, when you think about what you just said you are going to be really embarrised! But I always knew the motiv...

Down But Not Out! Reflections of a mother with two sons with Down syndrome. Monday, May 17, 2010. If this is your first time joining this blog, welcome. Please feel free to read through past blogs. We are a family with two biological sons who have Down syndrome (Caleb - almost 7 and Joshua - 3). The purpose of this blog is to encourage those who have loved ones with DS and to educate those who do not. I pray you enjoy! I want to dedicate this blog to just a few of the "angles" in my life. It was Tine who...

THE BREWSTER FAMILY!: Emma's Painted Nails

http://brewsterfamily-karen.blogspot.com/2011/08/emmas-painted-nails.html

Sunday, August 7, 2011. So we painted sissy's nails a few days ago! She absoulutely loved it! All she did was talk about her nails all night long. I figured that since she is always so mesmerized about my nails it was time to start painting hers. She hated having the toilet paper in between her toes though. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We pray for NO more surgeries. We also have a baby girl named Emma that just turned one in November. View my complete profile. John Paul and Karen. July 14th, 2006.

THE BREWSTER FAMILY!: Summer - Pool Fun!!!

http://brewsterfamily-karen.blogspot.com/2011/08/summer-pool-fun.html

Sunday, August 7, 2011. Summer - Pool Fun! My kids (especially Emma) love the swimming pool! Emma really has no fear so once she learns to swim she is going to be everywhere. AJ still thinks that he is safest sitting on top of a raft. LOL He loves just to be in the baby pool or their kiddie pool! We have had them both in lessons and we will continue this until they can both swim! I guess mom is secretly hoping for a swimmer like her. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). THE BREWSTER FAMILY!: December 2009

http://brewsterfamily-karen.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 14, 2009. Down Syndrome Holiday Party. We went to the annual Holiday Party and we got to see Santa and Mrs Claus. It was great seeing how Alexander reacted compared to last year! The bowling was fun too. Alexander actually got to bowl this year too. Our friends brought a ramp and Alexander was able to push his ball down the ramp - he loved it. Once again my little angel seems to amaze me! He makes us so proud! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. John Paul and Karen.

http://brewsterfamily-karen.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Alexander's birthday was today November 24th but we had his party on November 8th, before I had Baby Girl! Alexander got tons of cool new toys including a Tonka truck, wooden puzzles and a cool new potty - which he has pee'd on once. Hopefully he will get the hang of it and do it more often - we keep trying everyday. So today Grandma Yehling came over for lunch and she brought him a special cookie! He loved it and ate every last bite of it! He loves his cookies! So I haven't w...

A walk in the world of the wild1s. Friday, July 12, 2013. It began as a side mention. It blossomed into one of the best weekends in memory. It ends with a whispered prayer. "God, let me have at least one more weekend there, like that, before I'm to the edge with desire for salt and sand." There are some stories best left to the ocean.kinda like Vegas. What happens on the beach, stays on the beach! There is just something about the beach that makes hamburgers taste so much better. Maybe it's the sand!

Mom-alegal's blog | Full-time paralegal, all-the-time mom, just trying to juggle life and stay sane

Full-time paralegal, all-the-time mom, just trying to juggle life and stay sane. So I was contemplating my blog the other day (or lack thereof), and why it seems so hard to think of something worth blogging about anymore. The bitching about various toxic co-workers is over because, thank the everloving Lord, they left! It was like a Christmas miracle. Long time, no rant. Meanwhile, we’ve struggled with some things with my son. It turned out that the private school we chose for him for kindergarten wa...

Sunday, December 7, 2014. Our/My (mostly mine) Journey to Transplant- - Wendy and Kim. This is my memory of my friendship with my friend Kim Mooney Canup who I am donating my kidney to. To our friends, some of this will bring back your own memories. I am so blessed to have these lifelong friends. To friends that I know more recently, this might help you to understand why I would do this for someone I love very dearly. This is our story as I remember it. We even still have those same friends to this day!

Down But Not Out!

Down But Not Out! Reflections of a mother with two sons with Down syndrome. Thursday, December 3, 2015. San Bernardino, CA. I have been obsessing. So, either I need to go to the doctor and get a medication adjustment, or I need to speak out and do something about my obsession. Today the only good choice is the later: Speak out! My obsession is simple: My kiddos! The mass shooting yesterday in San Bernardino, CA has opened a flood gate of emotions! My boys would be the run right into danger only because t...

Bringing up Monster - an Asperger's Love Story

Friday, February 27, 2009. It’s already starting – the panic of “What do I do with my kid for the summer? And if I leave him there, I won’t lose my space and will still have after-school care for next fall. There is one more option that at once seems perfect and then in the next instant seems dishonest and mean. And maybe not fair to Monster. Oh, and did I mention that their after-school care takes PCA hours too? Because part of me still feels that perfection for my son would be a place with children he ...

Friday, August 13, 2010. A Whirlwind of Change! Wow, I am super excited, I have been given a couple of extremely awesome opportunities lately and these have led me to be able to take my blog in a whole new direction! This blog originally started as a way to keep in touch with family and friends. Being a military family we are not right next door or even a town over from our family, so The Gleaton Gaggle was formed in order to fill everyone in on our lives. My very next blog post and the first one to kick...

Mom 2 Two | for the practical, creative, silly, tired and crazy mom

For the practical, creative, silly, tired and crazy mom. Gift Basket for the Tween. April 1, 2017. Every Christmas it is a struggle to come up with a gift idea for my nieces (I have 5 of them) 2 of the girls are older… 12 and 11 respectively… and then they range from 6-8. Of course the 12 and 11 yearolds are getting into teen things; make-up, hair, nail polish… the stereotypical girl things for this age and you want to know what the rest are in to? Next I had to assemble the insides…. A small make-up case.
