Once Upon A Mom. A little about Me. A word of advice? To Sleep or NOT to Sleep…. Posted by Once upon a Mom. August 5, 2015. August 6, 2015. Everyone has their own way of putting their child to sleep. I have yet to discover my OWN way! You hear, “let them cry”, or, “Let them self sooth”. That they’ll get it eventually. I think the longest I’ve lasted is maybe 5 minutes of constant yelling and crying. I finally broke when I heard, “mama! I want my bed back and my sleep! Any advice on how to overcome this?

Along with this routine , I’d put it on and she slowly understood it was sleep time or nap time . Crying became less frequent . I also started to let her crawl more around the house – to get her tired . No crying . I've been writing in a diary at night before bed to get my thoughts out of my head. Which helps me relax, but I still wake up in the morning with this broken feeling. I'm to the point now where I'm just hoping that it'll go away eventually and trying to learn to deal with it in the meantime. I just can't believe he is really gone.
