A diagnosis, of sorts | Mother's Always Right

Mother's Always Right. Message in a bottle (or Facebook) →. 04/04/2012 · 2:10 pm. A diagnosis, of sorts. Hospital waiting rooms - a good source of books. I didn’t sleep last night. I was too busy tossing and turning in bed, mulling over the various different things. That could mean my toddler isn’t toddling. Why is it that things always seem so much worse in the dark? It turns out, as much as Frog loves having her picture taken, she’s not so keen on the “special camera”. I could have cried with relief ri...

Mum Down South: November 2014

http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 11 November 2014. Go self-catering as close to home as possible. We used to love long-haul holidays – before kids that is. Now our idea of a perfect getaway is somewhere close by (three hour maximum car journey), that has a play area, its own kitchen and a living room we can relax in once the children have gone to bed. Holiday cottages – fantastic. Center Parcs – even better. We also visited Paultons Park which was just a 40-minute drive away. Tuesday, November 11, 2014. View my complete profile.

Mum Down South: April 2013

http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Monday, 15 April 2013. Can I have a wonderful birth too? A few months ago I was at a party and one of the other mums there was telling me how wonderful the birth of her baby daughter had been. Yeah right, I had thought. Thinking back to my experience, I found it hard to imagine how anyone could find giving birth wonderful. Life changing yes. Momentous. Totally worth it. But wonderful? Monday, April 15, 2013. Tuesday, 9 April 2013. My pre-baby to-do list. Or can I pop him in the stroller as usual and carr...

Who Loves Me?™: Why babies love looking at faces

http://lucy-wholovesme.blogspot.com/2011/10/why-babies-love-looking-at-faces.html

Tuesday, 18 October 2011. Why babies love looking at faces. Babies are hardwired to recognize faces, which helps them connect with their caregiver early on" says Michael Frank, a brain and cognitive sciences researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology "They like to look at anything that resembles a face, even something as abstract as an electrical outlet." [1]. 8211; especially if your eyes are really wide open and your smile is equally as big. There are two elements to this. Firstly face...

Mum Down South: October 2012

http://mumdownsouth.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 30 October 2012. Postman Pat and guns? I don't think so. So I have just written an article for the parenting website Emma's Diary *shameless plug* about the dangers (and positives) of screen watching. By this I mean telly, laptops, games consoles. Research has shown that British children have regular access to an average five screens at home by the age of ten and that. A child born today will have spent a full year watching the box by the time he or she reaches seven. Discussing what age childre...

HOM...HOM...HOM....: Write to remember

http://homeofficemum.blogspot.com/2012/05/write-to-remember.html

Wednesday, 23 May 2012. Anyway I started writing this month. Nothing sexy. Just work stuff. But as I started to write, I felt the dust on the writing cogs start to waft up, spiderwebs softly easing away. I don't even know if I will keep writing as voraciously as I did. But I do know that a blog is something worth cherishing. I want to find the time to write it, even if no-one in the world reads it. I say that, but it's someone else reading it that lead me to write this post. 24 May 2012 at 10:20. I was j...

HOM...HOM...HOM....: The Gallery: My backyard

http://homeofficemum.blogspot.com/2011/05/gallery-my-backyard.html

Wednesday, 25 May 2011. The Gallery: My backyard. This week's Gallery theme over at Sticky Fingers. Is: My backyard. So if you are super nosey about what people's backyards look like, go check all the entries out. This is our backyard in summer. And this is it in winter. In summer we do this (naked trampolining obviously). And in winter we do this. And when it gets flooded, it looks like this. Your backyard is lovely! And that West Berkshire brick and thatch is looking very familiar. 25 May 2011 at 17:25.
