CABANE À SUCRE. In the spring of 1986, Armand Desharnais ventured out to tap a few Manitoba Maple trees on the museum grounds. Much to his delight, clear maple water dripped out, producing fine syrup. With the help of volunteers, this slowly expanded into an annual Sugaring-Off Festival in April. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, the "Cabane" has become a very important part of the tourism development of our community.

CABANE À SUCRE. Moïse Goulet was a freighter who transported merchandise by Red River oxcart from St. Paul, Minnesota to Fort Garry, Manitoba. His house was situated on the Crow Wing Trail, near the Rat River, two miles south of St-Pierre-Jolys. This was a "resting place" for the freighters. Dating from the late 1800's, this typical Red River style house was built of hand-cut logs. The Municipality has designated the Maison Goulet as a historical building.

LE MUSEÉ DE. Construit en 1900, cet édifice était jadis le couvent des Sœurs des Saints Noms de Jésus et de Marie. Il servait d'école publique et de pensionnat pour les filles de la 1ère à la 10e année pendant 60 ans. La présence du Musée rappelle notre patrimoine et tients à reconnaître les contributions importantes des religieuses au développement du village de St-Pierre-Jolys et des environs. Ce bâtiment est classée édifice historique provincial. Et la Maison Goulet. 11h à 17h.

CABANE À SUCRE. Built in 1900, this building was a teaching convent owned by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. It served as a public school for grades 1 to 10 and as a girls' boarding school for 60 years. Visit a traditional classroom complete with a mannequin wearing a nun's period habit. View the parlour, which served as a reception area for the guests, the chapel, Mother Superior's small bedroom, along with photos and artefacts from the community and surrounding area. 11 am to 5 pm.
