Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Beautiful Feet - Early American and World. If you read my last post you know I have been making new plans for next year. Have you ever felt like Goldilocks when planning your school year? That's how I had been feeling. I got all prepared for the year using what we had used and loved for 3 years, but it just didn't feel quite right. One thing was too much, one thing was too little, but nothing felt fall asleep in the coziest-bed restful. This year I needed to simplify our plans....

Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Homeschool Necessities - ProClick Binding Machine. I wish there were a phonetic spelling of a cat call. If there were, I would insert it HERE. So basically, I've been coveting a ProClick binding machine. Here is a profile shot. Yes, I do realize I'm treating my ProClick like a hunka-hunka burnin' love, but seriously I'm in love. I found the best price for the ProClick at Office Depot, but only in the store. It's $75 online, but $55 in the store. Enter cat call HERE. Just think o...

Lewis read-a-thon extravaganza! We may leave off Screwtape Letters. And Till We Have Faces. You're sure to see me pinning away in the land of Narnia! It lo...

Sunday, December 14, 2014. FIAR Clown of God - MFW ECC Italy - Week 16. This week we were supposed to be studying Germany. Silas had so much in France that he requested to take a trip to Italy. We decided to condense our studies in Germany for one week instead of two and fit Italy in. I got out our FIAR manual and found Clown of God takes place in Renaissance Italy, so we took a little detour to the boot of Europe. We got this sweet little cardboard airplane. Now Silas doesn't jump across the border.

Thursday, April 30, 2015. FIAR - Miss Rumphius. Since we condensed our Antarctica study I decided to row Miss Rumphius. The little guy on the right is in Kindergarten. His sweet mom is one of my very best friends. She did FIAR with him all year, and they had so much fun! She told him that we were doing the same book they were doing this week, and he said, "They aaaare? She decided the way to make her world a more beautiful place was to plant lupines everywhere. They walked along the paths. And topped it ...

I read through The Writer's Jungle. One of the elements of the Brave Writer Lifestyle is Tuesday Teatime. We didn't get out our finest china this time, but I may have to dig it out. Aedan really enjoyed reading the poetry from this book! We had honored guests, and of course the famous Brit Tin Tin! My boys l...

Friday, July 25, 2014. Free Printable Blank Schedule for HOD RtR. This is my master teacher schedule for HOD RtR. I made it to keep myself accountable. Many people have other more simple systems that work just as well. I chip away at organization all year. I did a few pages here, a few pages there back when it was too cold to go outside. Using the guide as is is totally fine! This is just what I do, and if you want a separate official schedule I will share my template. I have shared the PDF version HERE.

Monarch Room: Of Pioneers and Early Summer Days
http://www.monarchroom.com/2015/05/of-pioneers-and-early-summer-days.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Of Pioneers and Early Summer Days. Well, hello there! One of the things I really wanted to do was visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder home in Mansfield, MO. It is about an hour drive from Branson, so I asked my husband if he wouldn't mind driving Miss Daisy a little way into the country. We haven't yet read all the Little House books, but my boys really loved Little House in the Big Woods. And especially Farmer Boy. It was fun to see where Laura and Almanzo made their final home.
