My High Plains Life. Thursday, June 5, 2014. Bees 10, Me 0. The weekend before last I was going into the hives to do the first checks of the season, when I got a face full of bees. I was being overconfident, not wearing any gear, didn't light my smoker, and it was overcast. I knew better. Well, the hive with Queen Elena was a little hot. I did this hike true "ultralight" style with only a few items- my phone served as camera and GPS unit, and a running hydration bladder. It worked out fine, although it was pretty cold and windy near the summit. GPS tracking and photos are from an iPhone 6 with no additional processing or editing. Large flat area on the saddle with Quandary.

Mainly, the flight was free for him and I wanted him to see his Granddad. More photos are coming, these are the camera pics but I also have some decent phone pix.
