Actually, Nathan had a horrible crazy work day, so we just went out to dinner. Today, however, we packed up the car (leaving the girls to play with my parents, wahoo! And hit the road headed for Monterey, California. We should have known we might meeting old Murphy on this trip, as he began sending us hints yesterday evening.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Persimmon picking is good for the soul. Posted by Rachael Hutchings. Monday, November 1, 2010. Saturday night was our ward's Trunk-or-Treat. Nate and I had forgotten to think about our own costumes, so we threw them together. Yesterday both of the girls were quite grumpy. Ella has a bad cold, so she has a legitimate excuse. Savvy's excuse is . . . that she's almost four? Posted by Rachael Hutchings. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Persimmon picking is good for the soul.

Sunday, July 25, 2010. The Princess and the Frog? No, that is NOT a plastic lizard that Savannah is holding, it's a living breathing lizard. Would it surprise you if I told you she was at her Papa's house (my dad) when this occurred? Posted by Rachael Hutchings. Friday, July 23, 2010. Things have been a whirlwind of activity for our family over the past month! We stayed for one night and left for the airport immediately after the event at 2:30 pm the next day, exactly 23 hours after we had arrived in NYC!

Chickenscratch: January 2011
http://hutchingschickenscratch.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. How is it possible that 2 years have already passed since this day in 2009. Ella is two years old today and a bundle of joy. Ella may come in a small package, but she has a HUGE personality. If you ask her what her favorite color is, she will quickly tell you "Gween! Last night when I picked her up from a friends house after a Young Women's activity, she was in the process of trying to get my friend's dog to stay still because she was determined that she was going to ride him...

Chickenscratch: Hutchings' Flock
http://hutchingschickenscratch.blogspot.com/p/hutchings-flock.html
Here's a snapshot of our flock:. The Hutchings' are currently residing in a lovely coop in Corona, CA. They are enjoying the warm sunny Southern California weather, and being the closest they've been to family in their 8.5 years of marriage. Nathan, however, does not. Enjoy the California traffic. Nathan is a busy guy with work (he's a manager for a public accounting firm, doing systems and process assurance), but the ultimate dad. Our girls love their daddy! The Other Animals in the Coop. Chickenscratch: Murphys Law, Part 2
http://hutchingschickenscratch.blogspot.com/2012/03/murphys-law-part-2.html
Friday, March 30, 2012. Murphys Law, Part 2. This morning as we hit the road, headed for Monterey, we were blessed with lovely cool temperatures and a bit of a marine layer that slowly burned off as we moved northward. We saw some gorgeous wild flowers and green craggy hills along the road, and then traffic started to slow. Slower and slower we moved until we were at a complete standstill. The accident was only about 50 feet ahead of us on the road. Old Man Murphy was toying with us. Murphys Law, Part 3.

Sunday, April 1, 2012. When we arrived in Monterey we checked into our hotel and then drove out to an area along the coast called Sunset Drive to enjoy the play of the disappearing light on the waves. Then we went to a restaurant that we had read a lot about, called Passionfish (www.passionfish.com). We had an absolutely wonderful dinner. The perfect ending to a day with a rocky start!
