On Friday morning to begin our little adventure. We started in Hiroshima, walked around The Peace Memorial Park. And enjoyed the beautiful cherry blossoms along the river. Tonight for dinner we had Chicken " katsu. This is a favorite of my kids. Isabel, who is incredibly picky, loves it! We went to a little takeout place around the corner where they fry the chicken and make the takoyaki. On the left, takoyaki. On the right chicken katsu. Sauce on top of the katsu. Instead of the tonkatsu.

Margaret - Cameron - Vanya - KC - Isabel. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. A couple of days ago, K.C. came up to me with bright eyes and told me he had a loose tooth. I thought, Oh no! Last Saturday, Cameron and I went on a date to celebrate his birthday. We went to this awesome restaurant called " Kaikaya. My favorite in Tokyo. They serve delicious sea food which is a mixture of Japanese/western tastes. The manager knows Cameron by name and is always happy to see us. Kaikaya. Posted by The Mylroie family.

Going through security at the airport was a little different because they had to set him aside an carefully inspect the cast to make sure he wasn't hiding anything inside. The security people were quite nice though and they made him feel very special (celebrity status). K.C. also felt pretty cool going to school with his little "show and tell". Friday, March 30, 2012. Murphys Law, Part 1. Aaah, the old adage, "Anything that can go wrong will." Yesterday Nathan and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. Actually, Nathan had a horrible crazy work day, so we just went out to dinner. Today, however, we packed up the car (leaving the girls to play with my parents, wahoo! And hit the road headed for Monterey, California. We should have known we might meeting old Murphy on this trip, as he began sending us hints yesterday evening.

Friday, March 30, 2012. Murphys Law, Part 2. This morning as we hit the road, headed for Monterey, we were blessed with lovely cool temperatures and a bit of a marine layer that slowly burned off as we moved northward. We saw some gorgeous wild flowers and green craggy hills along the road, and then traffic started to slow. Slower and slower we moved until we were at a complete standstill.
