Saint Augustine Youth Action Group. A group of under thirties dedicated to positive change in the community and the nation. Stunning Gaul : Bush v. Posse Comitatus. What is Posse Comitatus? When was it passed? It was passed June 18, 1878 after the reconstruction that followed the Civil War. When was it repealed? It was partially repealed in 2006, but it was completely done away with in 2008. This means that the insurrection act is what is now in effect. What does that mean exactly? Another thing to do, t...

Capital Reward: April 2007
http://capitalreward.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Liberty, Low-Carb and Heavy Metal for all! Sunday, April 22, 2007. Well, I'm extremely proud to say that I've been a low-carber for one year today. Thank you, thank you. In this time period, I've lost 40 pounds, 4 inches of waist-line, and a 22 year old curse of chubbiness. Breaking this curse is by far my greatest accomplishment. Losing the weight was easy. Just stick to the plan and stay motivated by the moving scale. Posted by Francis St-Pierre. Links to this post. Tuesday, April 17, 2007. One questio...

Philosophy, et cetera: Institutional Rights

Philosophy, et cetera. Providing the questions for all of life's answers. Saturday, May 20, 2006. According to my indirect utilitarianism. We should institute whatever legal rights would best promote human flourishing. Legal rights derive. Whatever normativity they have from this consequentialist foundation. We have no reason to believe in such entities as "natural rights" - they are at once metaphysically mysterious and ethically inadequate. Moreover, it would be fetishistic. Moreover, it is a contingent.

Notes on Capital, Vol. 1. Capitalism Creates Scarcity of resources Artificially? I’ve lately frequented the facebook page called. Still Laughing at ‘Anarcho’-capitalism. Which is maintained by self-described anti-capitalist anarchists. They believe the that phrase. Is an oxymoron, and, as far as I can tell, they believe the that the phrase. Is redundant. Hence, they feel no need to specify the flavor of Anarchy to which they subscribe. I’ll call them. Redundant as that may be. The illusion of abundance.
