One person would step up to the top stair, pay the $2.10 fare, and go inside. Then the line would slowly move along, trudging through the wind and snow. Gets worse. Lines get longer. The average speed of the system drops below 7 mph. Wouldn't it make much more sense to use all the doors for boarding and alighting?
