Novitiate Homesteader: May 2013
http://novitiatehomesteader.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Hi there, I've started a second blog. It still deals with farming, but it is more focused on the therapeutic value of a farming/homesteading life. It is more directly concerned with mental illness and addiction. It is called, Farm Therapy. I think it is pretty cool. I'll continue to post in Novitiate Homesteader, especially items related to Christian spirituality and Homesteading skills. Thanks and I'll be in touch soon on both blogs. Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Novitiate Homesteader: January 2012
http://novitiatehomesteader.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The cow has landed. Everything went smoothly until milking time. Milking a goat who is accustomed to you is different from milking a stressed cow. I guess the milking for Fancy went well enough. We didn’t get much milk, but we didn’t get kicked either. The fun started when we tried to finish chores…in the dark. Our chore list for the morning is pretty long, but I am starting to relax and feel more optimistic about it than I felt an hour ago. Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Who kno...

Novitiate Homesteader: November 2012
http://novitiatehomesteader.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Better than I was. 8220;I’m not better than any of the rest of you, I'm just better than I was”. Being “broken” is part of the human condition. At least it is in my Catholic world view. Our brokenness is the reason behind Christ’s sacrifice. Being broken is part of our path to God. Grace is God’s gift to us. That we are loved even though we are broken. In fact, we are by God and frequently by others loved because of our brokenness. And, oh boy am I broken. It makes me who I am.

Novitiate Homesteader: October 2011
http://novitiatehomesteader.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 29, 2011. I was reading a blog yesterday that really shook up my way of thinking about my list. In the blog, SteadyMOM. Points out that the most important chore of the day is to provide a sense of peace in the home. When all is said and done, our children will not remember whether the dishes were always done or whether the goats got milked on time. They will, I hope, remember that our home was a place of peace. Attitude is everything. Blessings. Friday, October 28, 2011. Jenny’s r...

Novitiate Homesteader: July 2013
http://novitiatehomesteader.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 27, 2013. I posted these pictures so some fellow goatherds could help me with advice on what these bumps are. If you have any input I'd love to hear. I'm hearing that they may be plugged pores. Which would be a great relief. Thanks all. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. http://novitiatehomesteader.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 24, 2011. From all of us here at Wandering Moose Farm, we wish you a very Merry Christmas. May this season find all of you blessed with all the love, happiness, and joy that you could wish for. Blessed be. Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Christmas is almost upon us. We will be taking a little break in Oregon. A few days with family and a few days away from the farm. As much as I love the daily chores, it is nice to get a break from milking the goats in the cold and dark. The Kingdom of God.

The Boulder Belt Blog: Say No to Burpee Seeds
http://boulderbelt.blogspot.com/2007/01/say-no-to-burpee-seeds.html
The Boulder Belt Blog. A record of the activities, quirks and issues that are Boulder Belt Eco-Farm of Eaton, Ohio. Friday, January 05, 2007. Say No to Burpee Seeds. I just found out that Monsanto bought out Burpee seeds as of Jan 1 of this year. Monsanto, it seems, is attempting to buy out all the seed companies in the world and that is bad because those who control the seed sources control about everything else. Oh, that does suck, I just discovered Burpee, and put in a huge order a few months back.

The Boulder Belt Blog: Making Tomato Sauce

The Boulder Belt Blog. A record of the activities, quirks and issues that are Boulder Belt Eco-Farm of Eaton, Ohio. Sunday, August 18, 2013. Ready to make sauce. I have the Victorio put together, a bowl to catch the sauce and a container to catch the tomato waste. Another angle. This shows the compost bucket i keep below the VIctorio as it will start dripping and i need somewhere to put the skins and seeds. Sauce filling the bowl and waste is going into the side container. A lot fewer maters. Freezing me...
