A blog devoted to sharing my ongoing journey as a 'Teacher of Science'. Review of ‘The Shallows’ by Nicholas Carr. October 22, 2011. I bought ‘The Shallows’ by Nicholas Carr because I wanted to get a flavour of how growing up in the age of the internet might affect how my students learn. I’d recommend this book to anyone with a similar interest, or alternatively you could have a look at Carr’s blog. This post is my summary of the just the key ideas in the book and how I think they relate to education.

Bringing NQT bloggers together. Talk NQT.co.uk. Hi, I’m Tim and I’m a primary school teacher. I am extremely passionate about creative approaches to education, and finding ways to help children learn by getting to grips with their natural creativity. Before training I ran The Big Art People. You can find me on Twitter, sometimes lurking at the back of #ukedchat, probably ranting about Michael Gove! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Bringing NQT bloggers together. Talk NQT.co.uk. Teaching was always something I thought a lot about. In fact, whilst I was still at school I talked to a lot of my own teachers about it. They seemed to think that I would make a good teacher, but at the time I was particularly shy and quiet; I couldn’t imagine standing in front of a class and keeping control! Bringing NQT bloggers together. Talk NQT.co.uk. I am going to be teaching reception (4-5 year olds) children this year. My course was specifically early years focused so I’m very excited about teaching some of our youngest children. As well as early years being my passion, I love outdoor learning (especially forest school) and performing arts. I hope I can share something of interest on this blog whilst learning from others. Bringing NQT bloggers together. Talk NQT.co.uk. It is going to be tough though. My school is challenging and my NQT year will be hard. But it’s something I’m looking forward to and above all I want this blog to reflect not just the easy optimism afforded by the seclusion of the summer holidays, but to be equally upbeat about winter’s small wins and little victories. I’d love it if you would join me in doing the same. Me being reid robert. Awful postman, better (English) teacher. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
