Lots of little tastes. March 11, 2010. Thursday, March 11, 2010. March 2, 2010. Whereas my last trip to Europe was like tapas, my time in Sweden is like a 5-course meal. Thus far, I have spent the majority of my time in Lund (where Oscar lives) attempting to learn Swedish (which involves the pronunciation of every 8. Canada-cold. Spring should have arrived weeks ago, but it very obviously hasn’t. Magazine-like. IKEA-like interiors abound, and blonde women and chiseled men are everywhere. However,...Engli...

Lots of little tastes. May 22, 2008. Belgian beer and dutch herring. I am back home and have been thrusted into the world of school, job searching, weddings, baby-showers, and shit-shovelling (literally). While happy to be here, I do miss travelling which already seems like long ago. Picture from the Keukenhof gardens outside of Den Haag and Bruges. Thursday, May 22, 2008. May 15, 2008. I like pretzels and I like the people who make pretzels. They are, to say the least, very kind. Thursday, May 15, 2008.

Lots of little tastes. June 21, 2008. I knew that leaving the comfort of Ottawa would be challenging, so I’ve been purposefully trying to find ways to embrace life on the farm as I await the arrival of my next move (which is approaching rather quickly). After some experiences and thought, I’ve compiled a short list of reasons why I love being outside of Waterloo despite the challenges “stirring the pot” has brought:. Looking out the window to watch wheat moving with the wind. Playing with my nephew.

While I still quite value my safety and warm showers, I have definitely stepped out of my comfort zone here in Morocco. Finding myself lost in the mystery of medinas. Eating 25 Dh (2.5 EU) couscous, tagine, and drinking 3 Dr (0.30 EU) freshly squeezed orange juice. Being confronted and challenged by people and pathways alike. But then as ...

Lots of little tastes. April 1, 2009. A bit of management (I work with 2 consultants and 3 volunteers);. Some scientific analysis (I analyze published government analysis of chemical substances which since January, means I’ve prepared reports on the government's conclusion on the environmental/health risk of 68 chemicals to (hopefully) help NGOs across Canada advocate the government for improved chemicals management);. So, aside from another upcoming move within Toronto, what’s next?
