Stasher: January 2015

http://noellemace.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, 25 January 2015. Krentenbollen Last bake in the old oven. With 400g of flour, and 400g of fruit they are indeed very fruity. The fruit was soaked in sherry, and with the grated orange and lemon peel, you end up with a big sausage ready to cut up into 12 buns. The explanation and techniques for shaping are so easy to follow. Delicious with a cup of coffee. In the meantime remembering the earlier Pirozhkis, the pesto, pumpkin and mozzarella covered dough was made into parcels. Links to this post.

Stasher: In a Vase on Monday - Cathy came to visit

http://noellemace.blogspot.com/2015/08/in-vase-on-monday-cathy-came-to-visit.html

Monday, 10 August 2015. In a Vase on Monday - Cathy came to visit. However on Friday, after the big birthday bash for the 125th Birthday Party of our Local Kenilworth Horticultural Society, someone had left bags of wild plums. Most of the weekend was taken up making preserves! I did not think that I had that much in flower, but this proves that a snip here and a snip there and suddenly there are 13 different plant materials to choose from. Dahlia. Pink from a cutting bought at the gardening club. What a ...

Stasher: June 2015

http://noellemace.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, 18 June 2015. Clematis make lovely cut flowers. Just wait a couple of days for the flower to firm up after it has opened, before cutting, and invariably the clematis will last well in water. This is the vase made up Monday. The roses are nearly over, but the clematis is doing very well. One started to flounder yesterday morning, so I snipped the stem and changed the water, plus one drop of bleach. Links to this post. Labels: In a Vase on Monday. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. You then start to make t...

Stasher: October 2014

http://noellemace.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 29 October 2014. Links to this post. Tuesday, 28 October 2014. Since my last birthday, I have gradually been claiming my six special treats. This was my fourth one, and I was promised a dessert item for the weekend. Even though I love baking, its a treat for someone else to make something, as the taste and smell is so more intense if you have not been immersed in it during the cooking stage. The main course cleared, this is what was brought in. MC asked for the recipe. Links to this post.

Stasher: Hurrah for the Cherry Season

http://noellemace.blogspot.com/2015/07/hurrah-for-cherry-season.html

Thursday, 30 July 2015. Hurrah for the Cherry Season. I love cherries.and was invited to by my friend Roz for the afternoon on Tuesday to pick cherries. I am a climber, have always been. I brought these bright shiny, ripe, cooking cherries home. After a full morning stoning, to give 2.75Kg fruit, and 2 Kg sugar, and three lemons, and an afternoon pot stirring. 31 July 2015 at 10:09. 1 August 2015 at 19:15. 1 August 2015 at 19:13. In a Vase on Monday – Ixia Giant Yellow with Columbines and Salvia. October 31, 2016. There is a wealth of purple at the moment, in fact there is a wealth of flowers in general now, as the days lengthen quickly and the soil is still wet. I considered a completely royal purple vase, with hints of regal gold, but in the end I really wanted to use the lovely giant yellow ixias, and I absolutely love the little red and yellow columbine Aquilegia canadensis. Oh, and a few perennial wallflowers, still flowerin...

Mrs Mace Preserves: December 2014

http://mrsmacepreserves.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

A new venture in making and sharing my preserves. Wednesday, 3 December 2014. Cranberry Relish with juniper and honey. As soon as we got back from our hols, the guys on the fruit and veg stall run by Stodds of Leicester at Kenilworth Market called me to point out the new season cranberries. I still had my sea legs and was more in the mood for being outside, but last week, I came home with the supplies. 500g prepared cooking apples, I used Granny Smiths. 1 Orange Grated zest and juice. In a large pan, put...

Mrs Mace Preserves: July 2014

http://mrsmacepreserves.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

A new venture in making and sharing my preserves. Saturday, 12 July 2014. Just as I love marmalade on my toast, hubby loves Blackcurrant jam, as well as stirred through yogurt. Friday I made a few pots to 'lay down' in my preserve cupboard. I might enter a jar in our Horticultural Club competition. Monday, 7 July 2014. Keeping up with the jamming. I've made more than I've written about. How do I know for sure.its when Hubby went to cupboard and found what he was sure was Strawberry Jam, but no labels.

In a vase on Monday: The colour puce. August 17, 2015. August 17, 2015. I’m joining in with Cathy’s. Brilliant and addictive meme, In a vase on Monday, where we pick flowers and foliage from our gardens and allotments in order to enjoy a vase of home-grown flowers during the week. I’ll be going over to Cathy’s blog Rambling in the Garden to see what she and other bloggers from around the world have found for today’s vase. 18 thoughts on “ In a vase on Monday: The colour puce. http://mrsmacepreserves.blogspot.com/2015/04/blackcurrant-and-apple-jam.html

A new venture in making and sharing my preserves. Thursday, 16 April 2015. Blackcurrant and Apple Jam. N There is not one single picture in this book but the reasons why you do things are really well covered. I keep going back to this book, which has grown to the top of my pile of preserving reference books. Here is my recipe:. 14Kg prepared blackcurrants, mine were the largest, ripest, juiciest ones which I have reserved for desserts! 850ml prepared crab apple juice. 2 Kg sugar, a present from Diane.

Garden Dreaming at Châtillon. Consult the genius of the place. The wilderness … and beyond! The village of Châtillon and its history. In a vase on Monday. I’m a little teapot, short and stout. Here’s my handle …. Here’s my spout …. I wanted to join in with Cathy’s meme ‘In a vase on Monday’. This week to say ‘goodbye’ to Centifolia rose, ‘Fantin-Latour’, who is breathing his last for this year. Inspired by John’s ‘Arranger’ at ‘A Walk in the Garden’. I also used the young shoots of.
