8216;Pals for Life’ is an exciting opportunity for young people and adults to learn about the First World War and the Pals Battalions that served in the Northwest. Running over 18 months the project will create short films in Nelson, Preston and Salford and the surrounding areas. The films will look at the First World war and give opportunities for local communities to learn. Our Heritage Partner for this project is the Imperial War Museum North. We will also be working with the North West Sound Archive.

A great proportion of these tapes have been catalogued by the W.R. Mitchell Archive at Settle Stories Ltd., and are now housed in the North West Sound Archive. But over 66 tapes are housed in the University of Bradford Special Collections. And another 100 are currently housed in the University of Leeds Special Collections.
