The company was founded on January 13, 1967 by my parents Ann and Johan Wiggers. Just like today that day also happened to be a Friday the 13th. Although some consider Friday the 13th to be unlucky, I guess it doesn't work that way for everyone. The first actual workshop wasn't built until 1968. My son Kevin is now working with me as well. It's great having my father around ...

We decided that, since I will not be riding a Vespa across France rather a Piaggio MP3 250, that we should change the name of the project to one more fitting of the spirit of the adventure. As a person with hidden disabilities, I am always having to find another way around; this led us to the idea of going "off the map," so " OffTheMapEurope.blogspot.com. Is my new blogger home. As well as travel news on Twitter: OffTheMap eu and everytrail.com: OffTheMap. Off the map europe.

Musings of a Furniture Maker: August 2011

Musings of a Furniture Maker. Friday, August 26, 2011. The Dog Days of Summer. It's hard to believe it's been over a month since my last blog post. I ended up slipping into vacation mode, and haven't found reason to return until now. In my mind there is nothing that caps off a lazy day on vacation quite like an excellent cigar under a star filled sky. Even after all these years, this tune still rocks. Hat tips to the late Andy Warhol for the iconic album cover. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Musings of a Furniture Maker: A Visit With the Hopi
http://wiggersfurniture.blogspot.com/2012/02/visit-with-hopi.html
Musings of a Furniture Maker. Friday, February 10, 2012. A Visit With the Hopi. One night in the late 1990s I had an incredibly vivid and powerful dream. It happened with such profound clarity that I could have sworn it was real. In the dream I was standing on an open plain that was completely barren for as far as the eye could see. Far off in the distance was a range of mountains with low, flat peaks. I had the sense that I was standing somewhere in the desert of the American Southwest. Before leaving t...
