Kantens, Nederlands, houses a beautiful mean-tone organ, dating to about 1650. Mean-tone tuning means the thirds of a chord are tuned perfectly, resulting in a triad chord without any beats. It is a truly stunning experience, as most instruments are tuned out of tune- bizarre, but true. I have the opportunity to practice on this organ on Sunday afternoons.
