Red Riding: My first commute (thou shalt not Cat6 me)
http://rustyredriding.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-first-commute-thou-shalt-not-cat6-me.html
A bike commuter, dealing with cancer. Thursday, August 6, 2015. My first commute (thou shalt not Cat6 me). My first commute to work was today. I tried my best to prepare the night before, packing non-wrinkling clothes, making sure my lunch wouldn't leak all over my panniers. I woke up earlier than needed, like a kid on Christmas morning excited to play with new toys. I'm going to pass her.". Oh, no. you're not. The trip home involves going back up Polish Hill. I kept telling myself that this hill wil...

Red Riding: March 2015

A bike commuter, dealing with cancer. Sunday, March 29, 2015. The Eagles' memorial and mastering bungees. To top it off, they were giving away tee shirts. After leaving REI, a cyclist and his ladyfriend approached from behind. "Hello, Colleen! I turned around and returned the hearty greeting and was mortified: I had no idea who this was! He knows me BY NAME, had I met him on a group ride? He had a beard now. had I met him before he grew the beard? I pondered this for several miles. I am notoriously.

Red Riding: Who is Red?
http://rustyredriding.blogspot.com/p/who-is-red.html
A bike commuter, dealing with cancer. Some folks call me Red. Some call me Speegs. My name is Colleen and I live in Pittsburgh PA. I work right next to one of Pittsburgh's many river trails. I reacquainted myself with bicycling in 2011. In the summer of 2013, with much trepidation, I decided to venture out on the roads with traffic and experience all that I could from my bike. In 2015 I separated from my spouse of 13 years, moved back to the city. Red LOVES comments, make Reds day! 2016 miles: 2986.7.

Red Riding: August 2015

A bike commuter, dealing with cancer. Sunday, August 30, 2015. The spoiled cyclist and CountriBike. I dropped Fizz off at Thick yesterday and missed out on the 75 Mile Every Neighborhood Ride. Honestly, I wouldn't have made it, it's grueling, riddled with hills and it was gawdawful hot. I heard many riders dropped out well before the end. Fizz was my smooth, creamy tank. Ruby was rickety and awkward in comparison. Fizz had ruined me for all other bikes. After I got back on Ruby, I seemed to have acclimat...

Red Riding: April 2015
http://rustyredriding.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A bike commuter, dealing with cancer. Sunday, April 26, 2015. Table for one, getting to first base and milled road surfaces. I headed to OTB today for lunch, they were just opening the doors and a few cyclists were literally waiting to get in, the gorgeous weather brought us out. Putzed around, rode out to the Waterfront and back, noticed the floating house on the South Side. We tried to head out to the Poet Tree, but we forgot and just rode on past it. Oh well. It's a miracle I didn't faceplant. Marko s...
