https://dancingintherain.co/2016/05/04/sand-dune-reflections
Dancing in the Rain. This year we have decided to discover more of our beautiful county. If you follow me on Instagram. You will have seen some snippets of our adventures so far and know how much we love the beach. Holywell Bay has the sand dunes of childhood dreams. You can access the beach without climbing them but we wanted a view from the top. First we crossed a little river. A bridge is always very exciting! We felt like real explorers navigating an unknown land. I can see the sea! Our faces were fr...

https://dancingintherain.co/2016/10/27/british-wildlife-days-26-30
Dancing in the Rain. British Wildlife Days 26-30. For the final few days of The Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild, we have focussed on the bigger wildlife of the British Isles. We celebrated National Badger Week on Day Twenty-Six. By pretending to be badgers in the woods. And my son drew the sweetest (seven legged) badger using charcoal he had found from a used fire pit at the community woodland we often visit. 8230;and an aeroplane! And enjoyed the plantlife too. Inspired by the deer tracks we had seen down...

Walnut Sail Boats | Dancing in the Rain
https://dancingintherain.co/2016/07/03/walnut-sail-boats
Dancing in the Rain. The sun is shining but my little boy is feeling a bit under the weather so this afternoon we made some walnut boats to set sail on our mini pond (more about the pond to come in a future post! It was such a lovely quiet activity to do together so I thought I’d share it with you while he is snoozing. As it cooled we stuck little twigs in for the masts. Once the wax had set we poked two holes in a leaf and a rose petal to make little sails and threaded them onto the mast. July 3, 2016.

Lilac Sorbet | Dancing in the Rain
https://dancingintherain.co/2016/05/29/lilac-sorbet
Dancing in the Rain. I just love the smell of the lilacs in my garden. I would’ve loved to have cut some for a vase to enjoy them inside and fill my home with that wonderful scent, but there aren’t all that many flowers so I left them to be admired where they grew. However, I just couldn’t resist using a few to try in this beautiful sorbet! It was lovely to make together and so simple (even more so if you have an ice cream maker but we did it by hand). A Natural Christmas | Dancing in the Rain
https://dancingintherain.co/2016/12/14/a-natural-christmas
Dancing in the Rain. No matter what we believe or what our traditions are at this time of year, I think we can all be united in the wonder and magic of nature. I love the joy and giving of Christmas and I also feel drawn to the solstice celebrations. The rhythms of the Earth and the natural cycle of the year seem so, well, natural! Especially since becoming a mother. An obvious way to bring nature into our homes is to decorate with foliage of the season (and for a lot of people, a Christmas tree! Once th...
